Bonus Story: Adrian pt. 9

"Intruder!" the Fae girl yells.

She sounds like a pissed off mobster, which is really weird.

But I don't have time to think about the strangeness of it all, because at that moment, dozens of Faeries fly towards us like missiles.

Instinctively, I guide Anna behind me.

"We mean no harm," I cry out."

A petite, blonde-haired Faerie flies at us with alarming speed. I manage to grab hold of her, but she looks at me furiously and whips her long, pointed ears towards my neck. She digs her sharp fingernails into my shoulders as she tries to tear out my throat.

"Ouch!"

My cry of pain blends with Anna's shocked cry.

Out of nowhere, the ground begins to crumble beneath us. We tumble over the steep embankment and fall down, down, down into a pit of black, inky darkness.

As we land with a thud at the bottom, I realize that my shoulder is bleeding profusely from the Faerie's attack. I look around in panic. Is Anna hurt?

But thankfully, she was right next to me and appeared to be fine.
