*******
I've been in the flower department for a week now, and it's been filled with annoyance after Rosa yelled at me for not trimming the flowers well enough. I constantly have to change them to please this mysterious Alpha, who's apparently too in love with flowers.
Thoughts of the mysterious Alpha made me forget my surroundings and, before I knew it, I had bumped into someone, and we'd both gone tumbling, the flowers between us.
“Ouch!” I yelped at the pain, but the groan beneath me made me raise my gaze up. To my surprise, it was a man with familiar eyes that caused my wolf to stir.
“Oh no, I'm so sorry!” I tried to get up while shielding the flowers from damage, but ended up falling again and catching his nose with my head.
“Ouch! My nose!” he exclaimed.
I was shaken. I can't believe what I just did in front of a stranger! I quickly stood up, relieved that nobody noticed my clumsiness.
“What are you? A blind bat?” His deep voice sent chills down my spine. Who is this person who's making me feel this way? I adjusted my dress and looked him straight in the eye. He's a giant compared to my height. But the thing that captures my attention most is the gaze of his eyes. It seemed like he was looking deeply into me.
“I… I'm so sorry, I was about to…" but words failed me as soon as I saw his face turning red.
He slowly lifted his gaze to meet mine. His eyes were filled with rage. I was certain he wanted to devour me at that moment if he could.
“Was it you who chopped the flowers?” His voice was dripping with desperation as he questioned me.
“Y… Yes,” I meekly replied, my heart shrinking as he shut his eyes and gritted his teeth.
He advanced towards me, and I backed away, fearful of what he might do to me. He kept following until my back was pressed against the wall—only then did he pause, and I realized that I had nowhere to go.
“Is it true that you chopped the flowers to keep the wedding from taking place?” I blinked suddenly. Everyone knew me as the step-sister to Diane, who had stolen my identity.
“No, it's not like that!” I blurted out in denial.
“Why are you blaming me for something I didn't do? Who are you anyway?”
“Do you feel bad now? I thought you said the Alpha was yours?”
I was completely speechless, as I had no idea what to say to defend myself. Even though it was true, I couldn't bring myself to admit it at that moment. Our eyes met, and I felt like there was a connection between us, as I was unable to look away from his mesmerizing gaze. My cheeks instantly became flushed, and I quickly put my hands over my face, embarrassed by the situation.
“Don't tell me you're blushing? Do you have a thing for me, maybe?” he asked with a smirk as his lips began to resemble the color of roses. Who is this person, and why does he have such an effect on me?
Without thinking twice, I blurted out
“I don't know who you are, but I'm far too busy right now to bother with your games!”
Trying to flee the scene before things got any more awkward, I hurriedly rushed towards the exit. But just as I was about to leave, he suddenly pulled me backwards.
“Where do you think you are going?” I went wide, seeing how he grabbed my hands effortlessly.
“What is the meaning of this? I don't even know you.”
“But I know you, pack sinner!”
I gasped at the name he called me.
“Pack sinner? Well, I don't see what you are doing with a pack sinner like me. Aren't you scared I'm going to pull a fast one on you?” I asked.
He gazed at me with eyes I couldn't help averting my gaze from. No way, I can't be this shamless, staring at a guy this much.
“Is it true you don't want your sister to be married to the Alpha?” He asked, almost in a whisper. If I didn't know better, I would have thought he was someone I could trust. But seeing how he grabbed my hands tightly, I could tell that he just wanted to get out information from me. Who knew he might be working with Diane?
“How does that even concern you? Look, I've been trying to keep a low profile. You should stop trying to get me into trouble. You can tell that to her!” I yelled. Just then, he suddenly pulled me with him to an unknown passage.
“Where are you taking me? Let me go!” I struggled in his arms, but his grip was just too strong for me to break free.
I scratched and tried to bite him just to go escape from him, but he didn't move even a muscle. I must have been stupid to do that. The Lycans can't be hurt by a mere Werewolf like me, a powerless one at that.
He took me to a darker corner and suddenly pushed me against the wall.
“There's no one here now, so tell me why you don't want the marriage.”
“What the hell is wrong with you? How does my refusal have anything to do with you?” I asked confusedly.
He suddenly leaned closer to me. I wish I could move backwards, but my back was against the wall already.
At that moment, we both went silent. For some reason, his closeness suddenly made my heart race out of nowhere. It was beating so hard and fast that I was scared he could hear it from where it stood.
“Diane,” he called. This further made my heart skip. Why does my heart react when he calls me this way? I could feel his minty breath since he was so close to me. His body's scent was masculine and pure, nothing I had ever perceived. Just who was this guy and why does he make me feel this way?
“Do you perhaps feel this connection I'm feeling towards you, or is it just me?”
“I…I don't know what you are talking about,” I blurted out in a voice I could hardly recognize as mine. I lied, I didn't know what those feelings were, and I'm never going to admit to what I don't even understand.
I was so busy in my head thinking about my denial that I didn't notice him pulling me in instantly and lashed his lips on mine.
I struggled to tear my lips away from his kiss, but that was impossible. He pushed his tongue into my mouth and ravaged me. I helplessly fought his kiss, which gave sparks to my whole body. My knees instantly went numb at his hungry kisses. This was my first kiss and I thought it would be gentle, but right at that moment, I was being kissed hungrily and roughly by a stranger.
Just then, I saw the face of Diane smirking at me. At that instant, I did what, I thought, was the only way out. I bit his tongue so hard that he immediately jolted away.
“Arrrg!” I didn't let him finish before taking my hands forcefully to his cheeks.
“That is to remind you to never kiss just anyone you see, pervert!" With that, I stormed out of the passage, not waiting to see his reaction. But just as I left, I slowly took my hands to my lips. That kiss was hot and if I hadn't done what I did, I would have kissed him back with a careless abandonment.
CAINMy head was messed up about everything going on around me. I needed to cool off. My wedding was just around the corner, and yet I didn't feel the need to get married, not that I didn't feel the connection. In fact, my wolf had declared her our mate, but why is it so hard for me to accept the fact that she was my mate?*Flashback*A Year Ago...“Cain, don't you think you've had enough of a solitary and carefree life? Why don't you let the promiscuous life go? It's time to assume the responsibilities of an Alpha."“You know I'm a very busy man. I have duties for the pack and my personal life. I don't have time for love now.”“No way, son, you are not fully the Lycan king unless you claim your true Luna. Your Luna isn't an ordinary Luna; she's the scarlet witch. This is an opportunity that comes once every century. "You are destined to be great, and hence you must find your other half to fulfill your destiny, son.”I hope my mother will understand that I'm not ready to see my mate
DIANEThe fact that Gina was going to investigate the case made me restless. What if she goes around snooping for clues? Will that further make things difficult? What am I supposed to do then? I need to stop her before she does anything stupid to sabotage my plans.I looked in the mirror, and stared at the mark on my chest. The Scarlet seal, which I was able to snatch from Gina. If I hadn't been shown the method through which I could actually steal the seal, I might have been the one taking on Gina's position. Maybe I might be the one serving her like a maid.Good thing I was capable of succeeding in my plans. Though the half moon shaped scarlet seal burns my skin from time to time, so long as I can use the proper ointment which I was given, it somehow reduces the pain and redness. By the way, that symbol is not something that can be easily seen by outsiders, since the symbol was originally located at the top of my breastbone.“I have a message for you, miss Diane,” someone said t
CAIN “I uhm, I'm here to keep you company.” I said rather briefly. “Keep me company? I don't think there's anything I actually need your assistance for.” I said rather dryly. She suddenly walked up to my desk. Though she boldly walked into my office, I could sense how nervous she was. “I know you might actually not need my help right now, but, I think it's good to have some alone time with you, since we'll be getting married soon.” The moment the words left her lips, I had no idea what came over me, but I suddenly felt repulsed. She's my mate, for goddess’s sake, and I shouldn't be feeling this way. “Gina, I know this is crucial for both of us, but don't you think we are taking this too far?”“Pardon?” She said. I heaved a long sigh and left what I was working on, so I could focus on her. “I know you're my mate, and as my mate, I know you want to be married and take your rightful place by my side, but don't you think we're far too distant for a marriage now?”“Uhm, Alpha Cain,
DIANE I paced in my room with heavy thoughts on how to persuade Alpha Cain from pursuing the case. I didn't want him to find out about the death of my father and the rest of the pack. That will be too much, and it will only put me in danger. Now I wonder if Gina had perhaps told the Alpha something, which he was acting upon. That is the only way to describe the situation. Else, why would he suddenly want to help her find the killers of her parents? He must not want to get married, and hence he was looking for every means possible to break off from the marriage. No way! Now I see where this is going. That traitor! I should have known she never meant anything good. I should have known this was what she had in mind against me. She must wanted to prove her identity so badly and even went as far as going back on her word. Well, since it has come to this, I'm uncertain if I'll be showing her any mercy from now on. Now that I still have the support of the people, I need to grab hold of t
GINA“No, I've never been to Gina's room, let alone steal an earring.”“Are you sure about what you are telling me right now?”“I swear in my life, I've never stolen anything from my sister.” I didn't understand what was going on as to why the Luna was asking me all of those questions. I never stole from Gina. I took my gaze towards Diane only to see her staring at me with a wicked glint in her eye. For some reason, I find it weird that I'm being summoned because Diane lost an earring. “Okay, since you say you didn't steal the earrings, I'll have to send Rosa to your room to confirm your claims.”“Yes, you can do that, Luna,” I replied. But then, I realized that my confidence might be ruined. Why don't I feel so good about this? If I'm not mistaken, there's a possibility that the earrings can be found in my possession. I took another glance at Diane only to see her smirking in my direction.Oh, no! Did I just fall into Diane's trap? It can't be. She'd promised not to do things like
GINA “Arrrgh!!” I screamed as the silver chain dug into my flesh and burned me. I gritted my teeth as the pain surged deeper into my flesh and my bone. This was the worst punishment ever. In my pack, we do punish offenders, but no one has ever undergone the silver chain torture. This was the cruelest punishment ever given. How could they punish me for what I didn't even do? This was the height of it all. I shut my eyes and tears poured like rain hitting my face. “Mom, dad, what am I going to do? I cannot die like this. I need to find out about those who caused the fall of our pack. Furthermore, I cannot stop until I have brought them to book.” I said in my thoughts as tears ran down my cheeks. *****It's been more than a day since I've been locked in the dungeons without food or water. My throat has gone dry and my lips scaly. I could hardly move my eyes because I was so weak, coupled with the fact that I never ate before I got punished. Is this the end for me? Just as I was think
Cain's POVWhile in my shower, bathing, I kept thinking about the information Fox gave me concerning my mate's sister. Though she was accused of stealing, for some reason, I didn't seem to be convinced about it. I had seen her before, and those eyes didn't look like the type who would just steal. But then I don't know her that well. All of this was just my speculation. I have no idea what she really was capable of doing. After dressing up, I decided to pay my mother a visit. I am obligated to visit her when I get back from whatever trip I went for outside the pack. *******“Son, I'm so happy to see you. Good thing you are back, so we can start with the preparations for your wedding!” My mother said excitedly. I could see just how happy she was about my marriage. But it seems I'm the only one who doesn't want to be married yet. “Mother, I'm glad you are in good health. But I have something else to discuss with you.”“Huh? Okay, go ahead, I'm all ears.”“This is about Diane. I heard
RED MOONLIGHT PACK“Are you saying you are heading to the Raven pack now?”“Of course, Alpha, my daughter is to get married to the Lycan Alpha. What do you expect me to do? Of course, I have to pack up for the occasion.”“But Margaret, we both know that isn't how it is. Besides, the kid is still alive. Are you sure you can do this on your own?” I paused to have a rethink of everything I planned, then I smiled at Alpha Dexter.“There's nothing to worry about, trust me. This is just the beginning of my plot. We will succeed. All you have to do is trust me on this.”“Okay, if you say so, my love,” He pulled me to his chest and we kissed.“You have been the best woman at my side, and you are more useful than all my Alpha friends,” Dexter complimented. I smiled brightly.“Knowing I'm the best woman, that's why I've been with you all these years,” I stated with a bright smile.“Of course you are. I will send my best men to see you all the way to the pack.”“Come on now, Dext, we can't do
