Do You Feel The Connection?

*******

I've been in the flower department for a week now, and it's been filled with annoyance after Rosa yelled at me for not trimming the flowers well enough. I constantly have to change them to please this mysterious Alpha, who's apparently too in love with flowers.

Thoughts of the mysterious Alpha made me forget my surroundings and, before I knew it, I had bumped into someone, and we'd both gone tumbling, the flowers between us.

“Ouch!” I yelped at the pain, but the groan beneath me made me raise my gaze up. To my surprise, it was a man with familiar eyes that caused my wolf to stir.

“Oh no, I'm so sorry!” I tried to get up while shielding the flowers from damage, but ended up falling again and catching his nose with my head.

“Ouch! My nose!” he exclaimed.

I was shaken. I can't believe what I just did in front of a stranger! I quickly stood up, relieved that nobody noticed my clumsiness.

“What are you? A blind bat?” His deep voice sent chills down my spine. Who is this person who's making me feel this way? I adjusted my dress and looked him straight in the eye. He's a giant compared to my height. But the thing that captures my attention most is the gaze of his eyes. It seemed like he was looking deeply into me.

“I… I'm so sorry, I was about to…" but words failed me as soon as I saw his face turning red.

He slowly lifted his gaze to meet mine. His eyes were filled with rage. I was certain he wanted to devour me at that moment if he could.

“Was it you who chopped the flowers?” His voice was dripping with desperation as he questioned me.

“Y… Yes,” I meekly replied, my heart shrinking as he shut his eyes and gritted his teeth.

He advanced towards me, and I backed away, fearful of what he might do to me. He kept following until my back was pressed against the wall—only then did he pause, and I realized that I had nowhere to go.

“Is it true that you chopped the flowers to keep the wedding from taking place?” I blinked suddenly. Everyone knew me as the step-sister to Diane, who had stolen my identity.

“No, it's not like that!” I blurted out in denial.

“Why are you blaming me for something I didn't do? Who are you anyway?”

“Do you feel bad now? I thought you said the Alpha was yours?”

I was completely speechless, as I had no idea what to say to defend myself. Even though it was true, I couldn't bring myself to admit it at that moment. Our eyes met, and I felt like there was a connection between us, as I was unable to look away from his mesmerizing gaze. My cheeks instantly became flushed, and I quickly put my hands over my face, embarrassed by the situation.

“Don't tell me you're blushing? Do you have a thing for me, maybe?” he asked with a smirk as his lips began to resemble the color of roses. Who is this person, and why does he have such an effect on me?

Without thinking twice, I blurted out

“I don't know who you are, but I'm far too busy right now to bother with your games!”

Trying to flee the scene before things got any more awkward, I hurriedly rushed towards the exit. But just as I was about to leave, he suddenly pulled me backwards.

“Where do you think you are going?” I went wide, seeing how he grabbed my hands effortlessly.

“What is the meaning of this? I don't even know you.”

“But I know you, pack sinner!”

I gasped at the name he called me.

“Pack sinner? Well, I don't see what you are doing with a pack sinner like me. Aren't you scared I'm going to pull a fast one on you?” I asked.

He gazed at me with eyes I couldn't help averting my gaze from. No way, I can't be this shamless, staring at a guy this much.

“Is it true you don't want your sister to be married to the Alpha?” He asked, almost in a whisper. If I didn't know better, I would have thought he was someone I could trust. But seeing how he grabbed my hands tightly, I could tell that he just wanted to get out information from me. Who knew he might be working with Diane?

“How does that even concern you? Look, I've been trying to keep a low profile. You should stop trying to get me into trouble. You can tell that to her!” I yelled. Just then, he suddenly pulled me with him to an unknown passage.

“Where are you taking me? Let me go!” I struggled in his arms, but his grip was just too strong for me to break free.

I scratched and tried to bite him just to go escape from him, but he didn't move even a muscle. I must have been stupid to do that. The Lycans can't be hurt by a mere Werewolf like me, a powerless one at that.

He took me to a darker corner and suddenly pushed me against the wall.

“There's no one here now, so tell me why you don't want the marriage.”

“What the hell is wrong with you? How does my refusal have anything to do with you?” I asked confusedly.

He suddenly leaned closer to me. I wish I could move backwards, but my back was against the wall already.

At that moment, we both went silent. For some reason, his closeness suddenly made my heart race out of nowhere. It was beating so hard and fast that I was scared he could hear it from where it stood.

“Diane,” he called. This further made my heart skip. Why does my heart react when he calls me this way? I could feel his minty breath since he was so close to me. His body's scent was masculine and pure, nothing I had ever perceived. Just who was this guy and why does he make me feel this way?

“Do you perhaps feel this connection I'm feeling towards you, or is it just me?”

“I…I don't know what you are talking about,” I blurted out in a voice I could hardly recognize as mine. I lied, I didn't know what those feelings were, and I'm never going to admit to what I don't even understand.

I was so busy in my head thinking about my denial that I didn't notice him pulling me in instantly and lashed his lips on mine.

I struggled to tear my lips away from his kiss, but that was impossible. He pushed his tongue into my mouth and ravaged me. I helplessly fought his kiss, which gave sparks to my whole body. My knees instantly went numb at his hungry kisses. This was my first kiss and I thought it would be gentle, but right at that moment, I was being kissed hungrily and roughly by a stranger.

Just then, I saw the face of Diane smirking at me. At that instant, I did what, I thought, was the only way out. I bit his tongue so hard that he immediately jolted away.

“Arrrg!” I didn't let him finish before taking my hands forcefully to his cheeks.

“That is to remind you to never kiss just anyone you see, pervert!" With that, I stormed out of the passage, not waiting to see his reaction. But just as I left, I slowly took my hands to my lips. That kiss was hot and if I hadn't done what I did, I would have kissed him back with a careless abandonment.
