Supportive

"Stop crying please." Mother comforted me when the tears continually poured down from my eyes.

A man suddenly strode into the room with an anxious expression. He had green eyes, I guess I must have taken that eye trait from him, considering that mom's eyes were black.

"Is anything wrong?" My real father asked with a pained expression and pulled mother into his embrace. The other woman quietly left us.

I shook my head after getting a hold of my emotions, "No, I'm fine. It's just that I've always thought that I was just a weak human living among the werewolves." I explained and cleaned my tears.

"Did they reject or bully you because of that?" Father asked with a frown that perfectly shows that he won't hesitate to raze Sharpedges Pack to the ground if I nod and say yes.

I slowly shook my head and said, "They didn't. I have a mother and father who always took care of me. The whole pack treated me well." I explained truthfully

Mother frowned in confusion, "But why did you fall from the cliff?"

I lowered my head, "My mate rejected me and I also learned that the people who I've been calling parents weren't my parents; they adopted me. I was angry believing my life was a lie so I wanted to end it." I explained. Talking about it made me feel ashamed of my actions but in another way, I was glad for it because if I wasn't triggered by Maverick's words, I would never know all these secrets; Mother and father would still be wallowing in pain also.

"How can you make a bad decision like that? What if your father didn't see you last night?" Mom's voice was filled with unhappiness when she scolded me and it made me lower my head in shame.

"I'm sorry," I replied feeling ashamed about my decision also.

As if Father had just understood what I just said, he asked with furrowed brows, "What do you mean mate?"

"Yes, I have a mate who rejected me." I nodded and replied with honesty that made my father's frown deepen.

"That's rare. Lycans don't have mates. We choose our mates ourselves." Mother explained.

"But what about Maverick? Can you explain more about the Lycan's mates to me, please?" I asked due to curiosity.

"Lycans get to choose their mates, compared to normal werewolves who are already bestowed with fated mates. Although, there are rare cases where a Lycan is mated to a werewolf but it's actually one in a million." Father explained which made me nod.

"But... Can you explain more about my childhood to me?" I asked quietly, wondering what my childhood before I was lost in the werewolf's land was like.

"You're so cute and sweet when you're little. This is your room and there are many of your childhood things well preserved here." Mother explained which made me nod in understanding and happiness.

"How did you lose me?"

"It happened when we took you out to the werewolf's world for an understanding. It was said that you sneaked out to play but despite how we searched we couldn't find you" Father explained with reddened eyes. I can't even imagine what they went through since they lost me, I held out my hand and my father immediately hugged me in happiness. I couldn't help but get lost in the happy state

I was in that position when my father suddenly asked, "What's the name of your mate?"

"Alpha Maverick!" I unconsciously blurted out; my expression soon changed when I saw my mother and father's expression change into a bloodthirsty one.

"I couldn't believe that an ordinary werewolf dares to hurt our beautiful treasure!" Father said and immediately punched the wall which sent a trace of fear down my spine.

I never knew that father and mother still had these thoughts in mind but seeing them like this, my mind was filled with warmth and happiness because they'll always support me.

Father's face flashed with a vengeful smile that sent shivers down my spine; father is scary. "I swear to make those who hurt my daughter pay," Father uttered and mom nodded immediately in support.

I couldn't help sitting up straight as mom and dad began to depict the picture of how they'd treat whoever hurt me in the past. "Father. No… That…" I stuttered.

"Anyone who dares to touch a finger on you would pay," Mom said with bloodthirstiness.

"Mom. Dad… I…"

"Relax!" Dad says.

My eyes darted around as I tried to find a reason to get their parents off it, "Can you tell me more about Lycans please." I quickly said in the hope to stop them from going to scatter Sharpedges pack.

"What do you want to know about Lycans?" Mom asked which made me sigh in relief. Thankfully, I was able to get their mind off it.

"Everything about Lycans. I only know that they're stronger than werewolves."

"We Lycans are always human before we turn, and our turning process would take us nearly two years. And after that, we'll be bestowed with our own Lycan. And that's how it's going to go with you, darling." Mom explained which made me excited.

I'm finally not useless, I wondered what Maverick's reaction would be when he discovered that I'm actually not weak and I'm very powerful instead. I rubbed my hands in excitement.

"During your Lycan awakening training, you'll also be trained as the next leader." Dad suddenly revealed which made me freeze.

"Ly… Lycan king." I gasped and stuttered in shock, excitement, and trepidation.

"Yes, you'd be the next Lycan king after your dad," Mom said nonchalantly which made me surprised about how they were casually saying this.

"But… I'm just ordinary…"

Dad's face hardened which made me gulp in fear, "Don't ever say that." He interrupted me.

"But, I dunno if I can be a Lycan King. A powerful one like dad." I said in fear.

Even though I was excited about the position, I don't think I'm capable of being a king, especially when I'm new here. "Would everyone be willing to accept me, a person without training?" I asked them.

Mother pulled me into an embrace. She began to stroke my cheeks in comfort as tears pooled in my eyes.

"Listen, I also begin from somewhere. I was clueless and clumsy at the very beginning so don't let that discourage you. Your lycanthropy will gradually appear as you train." Dad told me which made me nod my head.

Hearing what dad said woke me up; after all, I've just gone through, I'm ready to change everything.

I've been betrothed with a supportive parent and I'll try to make them and myself proud. And Maverick, also. I want to face-slap him with facts when I next see him.
