Gwen's POV
It's been almost two weeks since Andrew and I got married and it still feels like we are total strangers. He looked totally exhausted, probably from the day's work."Welcome home, how's the office today?" I asked as Andrew breezed in, my eyes trailing his retreating figure.Andrew stopped in his tracks, turned back and briefly looked at me."Thanks, hectic!" Andrew said curtly without sparing me a glance.I was surprised to see him respond. He hadn't been responding to my greetings since I had moved in. Today was clearly a good day for him."Your food is right there on the table." I said in a low voice, pointing to the dinner table. I was surprised the second time that night when Andrew turned to look at me, for the first time since I knew him, he wasn't scowling. He only nodded before moving off to his room.I was surprised to see him that way, he had never acknowledged any of my greetings but this night seemed different. Maybe he was not so bad after all, I shrugged and went off to my room to sleep.*****I jerked up awake and my eyes suddenly went to the wall clock. It was past 1:am and I could still hear the sound of the television.I got up from the comfort of my bed to go check and I was surprised to see Andrew dozing off peacefully.I walked closer to him and tapped him gently, he opened his eyes while rubbing his face gently, trying to control the sleep induced state he was in."What are you doing?" He said to me in a deep voice, clearly unhappy that I disturbed his sleep."Ermmm... I saw you dozing off and I decided to wake you up." I said, using my hands to demonstrate so as to drive home my point."I wasn't dozing, neither do I need your help to wake me up." Andrew replied coldly. The scowl was back on his face now."But I know what I saw, you were dozing." I teased him."Whatever!" Andrew blurted out angrily and was walking off when his legs mistakenly hit the table, he tripped and fell, his whole weight came crashing on the table."Damn it!" He cursed, lying supine on the table."Oh my God!" I screamed, trying to help him up but he held his hand up, signaling he didn't need my help."What the hell is wrong with you?" Infuriated, I looked Andrew straight in the eye."I don't f**cking need your help!" Andrew said to me defiantly. But I didn't listen to him, instead I proceeded to touch his foot again, this time around Andrew slapped my hands off roughly, the force with which he hit me made me briefly lose my balance but I quickly regained myself."Get the fuck away from me." Andrew yelled at me with an indignant look in his eyes.I cursed under my breath. In all the years I had spent on earth I hadn't met anyone so tough and arrogant.I got up and headed to my room to grab some first aid kit to help stop the bleeding on Andrew's footAndrew looked on as I worked on his legs, applying all the necessary kits to his foot like a professional would.Looking at him, I noticed he was still scowling and I smiled to myself. I wish I could know what was going on in his head but he knew perfectly how to mask his emotion.I wonder how any man would be so cold to a woman.I knew from my sources that he was no gay as he used to frolic around with women and would dump them almost immediately but getting to meet and live with him further confirmed the news that he was as cold and emotionless as I have heard.I continued with what I was doing on his legs as I applied and gently rubbed the ointment on the injured part after I had cleaned and stopped the gushing blood. His eyes were closed now probably from the after effect of the ointment I just rubbed on his legs.I was confused when I looked up and saw the way he looked at me. He still had the cold distant gaze on his face but he was staring at me now. His deep brown beautiful eyes felt as if they were accessing the very depth of my soul."I think we are done here." I muttered, breaking eye contact with him and packing together the kits I had just used on him.He didn't say anything in reply to what I just said, instead he roughly held my hands."What a..are you.. doing?" I asked him confused, my voice barely above a whisper so as not to anger him.He still didn't reply, instead he got to his feet and suddenly grabbed my head while aiming for my lips.I tried my best to protest but he held me still, not giving me any breathing space. Instead he deepened the assault his tongue and lips were doing to mine and I soon relaxed kissing him back with the same vigor. He soon yanked off my robe, roughly not giving me a second to pause.Gwen's POVThe next day, I was cleaning up and arranging the room when I heard Andrew suddenly yell at me."Don't fucking touch my stuffs without my permission first." Andrew's voice was loud and distant making me wonder maybe he wasn't the one all over me last night.Yes, Andrew and I had a great, passionate night. It was okay with me because he was maybe a jerk but he was a handsome man, too. I’ll take it as a one-night stand. Besides, I’m his wife."Why do you always act so cold?" I asked. He looked up at me from what he was doing on his laptop but said nothing, instead he stood up from the bed and decided to walk away."You always treat me like I meant nothing to you" I said feeling hurt in my heart, "I'm your wife so I deserve better."He paused then turned to answer me. "Wife?" He asked me as if it's a strange word to him but when I didn't reply he continued, "you must be really dumb if you haven't noticed we are only married on paper."I could hear the scorn clearly in his tone
Gwen's POVI woke up to my head banging hard and my eyes feeling dizzy. I was feeling completely unaware of my surroundings and couldn't even remember when I went to sleep. I picked up my phone to check the time and was surprised to see missed calls from Andrew. I wondered how that could be, considering I was a light sleeper and would normally wake up even hearing the faintest sounds.I yawned and got up from the bed then strolled towards the bathroom to quickly rinse my face and help lessen the pangs of headache that wanted to burst my head open. I then moved to get a bottle of water from the living room as my throat felt parched. The whole house looked completely quiet and empty save from the occasional sound coming from the TV. I wondered where everyone went and briefly relaxed when I remembered I was the one that sent Veronica, the maid on an errand and Andrew had stepped out earlier talking about meeting a client. I made a mental note to warn Veronica to always turn off the TV
Gwen's POV"Are you okay?". Grandma Mary asked me as I wash the last piece of the dish from yesterday.I nodded, forcing a smile. I still couldn't believe it's been some weeks already since I left Washington to come stay with my grandma here in Oklahoma.I had taken the bold step of moving on as grandma had been advising me to but I still think of it every once in a while. The news of Andrew and his ex-girlfriend coming back together had disturbed me that morning and had me thinking about the issue again. I had been hoping he'd had a change of mind, hoping he'd tell me he realized I was innocent but then that only seemed like it could only happen in my dream. All that happened still feel kind of hazy to me, and I don't know maybe I could forget it in a long time to come. The recurring headache I have been feeling for days now seems to have come again even after all the assurances from my grandma it was probably the stress from all that had happened and it will eventually go, I still
"But you know you have to tell him, at least he has the right to know." Granndma Mary said to me, her voice laden with concern. It was the second day I got to know I was pregnant and grandma had been advising me on thousand of reasons why I need to inform Andrew about the pregnancy."He doesn't even want to see me. I don't think he would give me any audience." I said quietly but grandma only frowned her face."You haven't even try, you must go see him" She said then squeezed my hand. I only nodded and I'd gotten ready immediately to come see him. Currently I'm in the front of Andrew's mansion after alighting from a cab and paying the cabman who had zoomed off immediately.I sighed and got into the compound after gently pulling the gate. I was surprised seeing no one at the gate. Phew! That was new as I remembered there's Fred the ever ready bodyguard and Andrew's driver who is not always far off away. The house looks completely quiet safe for the occasional sound of the television t
Andrew's POV"What are you going to do?" Elena asked me, as we got back in from outside.I didn't respond at first. My heart was burning with anger so I just kept quiet so I wouldn't go ahead speaking out of turn. How could she even have the audacity to step into my house after all she did? After bringing a man into our supposed home. It's really pathetic when I thought of the incidence and how it had somehow mess up with my head. "Well, don't tell me she still has that effect on you." Elena said but I knew it was more of a question."She has no effect on me. I meant every word when I told her we are done." I responded wiping the sweats that were beginning to form on my brows."And the pregnancy?""What about it?" I asked irritated by the word itself."Are you going to accept it?" Her voice was slightly raised. But that didn't bother me, I knew it wasn't because of me. It was because of Gwen who had shown up to spoil the great weekend we were supposed to be having."No!" I replied cu
GWEN'S POV"You're not gonna be in there forever you know,"Granny's voice bounced through the door shortly after she knocked for the fourth time. I could. I could basically stay here forever. I could die of this heartache. Why did it hurt so badly? Why did Andrew's rejection hurt this badly? He didn't want me anymore. He didn't want our baby. I sniffled as fresh tears trickled down to the pillow. Another knock disrupted my thoughts. "Just go away!" I yelled at my grandmother. I was irritated with not just myself but with everyone around me. Granny thought she was helping by persisting. I opened the door but she was only pissing me off."I don't want to talk," I growled at my closed door. "Just go away." I sobbed. "You've been in there for over two days now since you..."I rolled over and had the pillow pressed tightly to my ears in a sick attempt to muffle the name that was going to follow. But as though she caught herself, Granny trailed off and remained silent. "I am not a
ANDREW'S POV"You are not listening!" Elena barked with her gaze narrowing my way. I blew out my cheeks, slammed my computer shut, and snapped my head right at her. "What's this about?" I tried as hard as I could to maintain the perceptible mildness. I couldn't show Elena her constant nags were telling on my mental health. It was just a few days and I was already going nuts. "What if Gwen's child is yours what are you going to do about it?""Only a DNA test can confirm that." I shrugged. She stepped closer to my home office desk and leaned into it, leaning closer as though to smack her words straight into my brain. "That baby isn't yours. There's no need for a paternity test. Forget about her." Her lips contorted grotesquely, "Let's get married."My eyes snapped at her and my jaws sagged. Elena was high on something because how the heck was anyone ever going to describe this attitude?"I just got out of a marriage." I scanned my brain for what to add to that when there was noth
GWEN'S POV"All fixed."Ricky announced with his footsteps heavy on the stairs as he descended the stairs with the rucksack he had on earlier. My attention was rooted in the country-style home decor magazine Granny picked regularly. I heard him. I chose to ignore him. "Where's Nonna?" He glanced around the entire living area. "You have a phone for a reason." I snickered without looking away from the magazine. "I don't have any." He sighed. His reply made me tear my gaze from the papers darting it his way. He had moved to where he had abandoned his guitar. He slung it across his shoulder. "Do you carry that around all the time?" I scrunch my nose and fixed my eyes on his guitar. He chose to let my question hang. He delved right into his rucksack and retrieved a pen and a notepad. Ripping out a sheet he scribbled on it and handed it to me. "That's what I charge. Be a good one and give this to Nonna."I barely gave the paper in my hand a glance before I gazed back at him. "I don
