Reymond POV
The first rays of sunshine brushed against my mate's golden skin. She rested her head on my lap, hugging one of my knees. I dared to look behind me as the cars drifted farther and farther from the damned facility. The large dark smoke column was still visible in the clear sky even after driving this far.
The twins from hell were sitting behind us. But they didn't dare utter a single word since we got in the car. It wasn't just about not disturbing Advica who was drained after everything she discovered and all the blood taken from her. It had mainly something to do with the state we found the kidnapped ones in. We might have seen a lot of atrocities in our lives, but the sight of our sisters and brothers trapped and strapped inside those cages would always be engraved in our minds
Sorry for the late update. I just moved abroad and you can only imagine how stressful the last month was. The story is coming to an end soon. I'll do my best to wrap it up before the end of this month.
Rey's POVThe train stopped at the station, and the passengers started their dance routine, taking synchronized turns getting in and out. My eyes were closed, but I was fully aware of every single movement around me. Two more stops and I'll be out of this stinky metal box. I hated city missions, and I always did my best to finish them as soon as possible, even if I had to skip sleeping. My mind was drafting the report I was due to write once I reach the headquarters when suddenly, my heart started beating fast, and my hands became clammy. I felt a heavyweight press against my chest, making it hard to breathe. My eyes snapped open, roaming the car full of strangers, looking for the source of this intense pressure. When I didn't find it on the train, my eye looked outside my window, and I found it.
Advica POVBeing a Human sucks in general. Being Human in this kind of situation is the worst. First, I can't see in the dark, but they can. And they take advantage of that, shoving me toward walls, low ceilings, and big rocks on the ground. I, on the other hand, talked back, mocked them, and made sure to anger them as much as I could. I tried to get rid of my hand's bidings after being pushed, again, against a stone wall, and I get punched in the face out of nowhere."I said stop trying, you stupid...OOF" Second, my strength is way below their level. I was trying to knock him off of me, but apparently, my leg barely nudged his chest. Earning me another punch in the face. Third, I don't heal as fast as them. But they don't seem to care. I've been collecting bruises and cuts from the moment they took me. And that's bout
Rey's POV"A protégé!! She's a freaking protégé!! Damn it, Luca!! What am I supposed to do?" I yelled the moment he picked up."Rey! What are you talking about?" The Lycan asked lazily. The kids' laughter in the background reminded me that he had guests over."My mate, Luca! I found my mate and she's some vampire's protégé." I punched the wall, making another decorative dent in the office wall. Well, it's Luca's office wall to be precise but I didn't care right now."You found your mate? When? Where?" His tone got serious, giving me hope. I knew that I stood no chance in this kind of situation, but If I have the Lycan's help I could hope for better negotiation with the vampire
Advica POV Nothing, and I mean nothing in my eventful life, could ever prepare me for this kind of pain. I wish I could find a word to describe the way it was soaring inside me. It was simply a painful mix of physical pain and emotional distress. And the pain got stronger the farther he walked away. But what hurt the most was the look he had when he heard my answer. A look that I knew would haunt me for the rest of my life. I wish I was capable of lying. Lying was something that I stopped practicing a long time ago. I came to learn the hard way that lying when you are surrounded by supernatural beings is simply stupid. And more importantly, it always ends in a bad way for me. So I started telling the hard truth no matter what. And at some point, I stopped caring about the consequences of my blunt words. They shouldn't ask me questions if they couldn't handle my answers. I didn't care about the reactions. Whether it is hurt, anger, or simply chock. Bu
Rey's PovIt all made sense now. All these years of mental training, of hardcore sessions with Luca and facing countless challenging situations, were all leading to this single moment. Shaking the hand of the Solntse clan's lord without crashing his bones. I had no way to be sure that he was the one but that's the only explanation for his presence today.Despite all my efforts, I might have squeezed his hand harder than intended when I remembered what Advica said yesterday. The lord lifted a brow, surprised by the added strength in the supposedly diplomatic greeting, but didn't comment. He just stepped aside and introduced the two other lords, observing our interaction silently."I'd like to see Advica first." He said when we started walking, making me stop. Thankfully, I h
Advica's POV"Take your clothes off." He ordered me the moment he put me on the bed."No!!" I whisper yelled as I eyed the door. I knew for a fact that all the rooms here, as is the case back home, are soundproof. Still, I didn't want any misunderstanding to happen here."I have to see!" He clenched and unclenched his fists, a telltale of his dark mood. He acted cool and composed in front of those wolves, but it was a façade. He was furious, at himself essentially."Leo, it's nothing. I promise." I tried to soothe him, only to wince in pain when hit my foot on the bed's wooden sides. His face contorted in a mixture of agony and anger."Nothing!! Did you see yoursel
Rey's POV"So, what did you do?" The duke asked Luca after a couple of hours of running through the woods. The Vampire made us run in our human form under the pretext of needing to communicate with us. But the truth is the man was simply being spiteful."What are you talking about?" Luca was in a mood too and was running his frustration out."I'm talking about the kind lady back there. Who was nice and sweet to everyone except her mate. So again, what did you do to piss her off?". He repeated his question with a smirk, earning a low growl from Luca."Nothing!" He spat, running faster, but it was not hard for the duke to match his pace. I sighed running faster and barely reaching them."Reall
Advica's POV I woke up with a start. With a series of sneezes, to be more precise. I did it again. I fell asleep in the bathtub. I lost count of the number of times it happened before. It's always hard not to drift into dreamland when I'm wrapped in hot scented water. I almost drowned a couple of times, and Boris had always joked about how lame that would look on my death certificate. Cause of death: Female fell asleep and drowned in her bathtub. The boys even came up with a list of possible death causes. I found out about it by pure coincidence a few years ago. I was going through their stuff for one of our usual pranks when I found the list. At first, I was shocked by the large amount of money they put into their stupid bet, but soon the shock was replaced with astonishment by their wild imagination.
