I didn't need a super hearing to recognize the sound of a muffled fire gun and a body hitting the ground. It all happened all too fast. One moment the rogue was muttering curses at himself while opening his door then he was gone. Next thing I know, two men moving us one by one from one vehicle to another. Their movements were mechanical and precise. They didn't utter a single word during the whole ordeal.
I was the only one placed on the truck floor, despite the few free sort of compartments on both sides. It took me a couple of seconds to realize that we were actually sorted by our species. Wolves on one side and vampires on the other. It wasn't that hard to differentiate between werewolves and vampires when one knew what to look for.

Reymond POVThe wait was killing me. I had no idea what was going on behind those stupid walls. All I wanted to do was jump over the electrified fence and run to my Advica. But I couldn't. We were fully aware of their security system. It wasn't that hard to figure it out. We could easily hack it and shut it down, but, again, we couldn't. Not when we knew that they had a panic button too.This panic button is meant to send a distress signal to a specific destination along with a copy of their hard drive before destroying it. It could be to some people or to a safe site. It's a security system created especially to save sensitive data from being stolen. And so hard to hack. We could do it. I could do it, but it would take hours if not days to hack it. Precious time we didn't have at the moment.

Even after living so long with the rogue vampire clan, and then moving to Leo's clan and training with his army, the lab coat guy managed to shock me with his tales. Reymond POV The first rays of sunshine brushed against my mate's golden skin. She rested her head on my lap, hugging one of my knees. I dared to look behind me as the cars drifted farther and farther from the damned facility. The large dark smoke column was still visible in the clear sky even after driving this far. The twins from hell were sitting behind us. But they didn't dare utter a single word since we got in the car. It wasn't just about not disturbing Advica who was drained after everything she discovered and all the blood taken from her. It had mainly something to do with the state we found the kidnapped ones in. Rey's POVThe train stopped at the station, and the passengers started their dance routine, taking synchronized turns getting in and out. My eyes were closed, but I was fully aware of every single movement around me. Two more stops and I'll be out of this stinky metal box. I hated city missions, and I always did my best to finish them as soon as possible, even if I had to skip sleeping.My mind was drafting the report I was due to write once I reach the headquarters when suddenly, my heart started beating fast, and my hands became clammy. I felt a heavyweight press against my chest, making it hard to breathe. My eyes snapped open, roaming the car full of strangers, looking for the source of this intense pressure. Advica POVBeing a Human sucks in general. Being Human in this kind of situation is the worst. First, I can't see in the dark, but they can. And they take advantage of that, shoving me toward walls, low ceilings, and big rocks on the ground. I, on the other hand, talked back, mocked them, and made sure to anger them as much as I could. Advica POV Nothing, and I mean nothing in my eventful life, could ever prepare me for this kind of pain. I wish I could find a word to describe the way it was soaring inside me. It was simply a painful mix of physical pain and emotional distress. And the pain got stronger the farther he walked away. But what hurt the most was the look he had when he heard my answer. A look that I knew would haunt me for the rest of my life. I wish I was capable of lying. Lying was something that I stopped practicing a long time ago.
