A WEDDING PARTY

Lewis arrived at the wedding venue an hour later, dressed in a black suit with a white shirt and a silver tie. He felt nervous as he entered the hall where the ceremony was taking place He greeted them politely as he made his way to the front row where the groomsmen were seated.

He found a seat beside Xavier who hugged him as soon as he sat down. “Hey man, good to see you. You look as good as you can manage”

Lewis rolled his eyes but chuckled at his best friend’s mild insult “I still look better than you though”

“I though you weren’t going to make it. You were almost late”

Lewis smiled sheepishly and said apologetically. “Yeah…sorry about that. I was having second thoughts.”

Xavier shook his head and said understandingly. “It’s okay, Lewis. I get it. It’s hard for you to be here.”

Lewis nodded and said sadly. “Yeah…it is.”

Xavier put his arm around Lewis’s shoulder and said reassuringly. “But I’m glad you’re here, Lew. It means a lot to me. And to Allen too.”
