Chapter 39

"ARE YOU SURE you'd make it to work with all of these stuff storming the city," a red haired woman was asking her husband who remained adamant and chose to head to work that morning irrespective of the scrawnies storming the city and it made her worried.

"Yes daddy, you shouldn't go. They look scary, like monsters," a boy of about ten years old voiced out, suddenly turning from the television he had been watching to chip into the conversation between his dad and mom.

Ian adjusted his already knotted tie that seemed to be of discomfort to him at the moment.

"Come on, it is only happening at one side of the city. I have to get to work," Ian replied both his wife and child before picking up his briefcase.

His wife knew there was nothing she could do to change his mind. The only thing she could do was to hope that he came back alive.
