Chapter 23

Sienna

I felt emotionally exhausted, like I could sleep for a month, and it still wouldn't be enough. On the other hand, my brain wouldn't stop running in circles. Bella and I had done nothing but lay in her bed in silence since Jace had left after deciding we would go back to my house tonight. Jace hadn't been gone long when we heard banging at the front door. We both jumped from the bed, and like with Jace, I grabbed the baseball bat, and Bella grabbed her phone, both of us freezing when the front door opened and someone started walking up the stairs.

"How easy is your house to break into?" I hissed to Bella.

"I don't know; no one has broken in before tonight," she hissed back to me.

"Sienna, Bella, it's Ryder. Can I come in?"

We both breathed a sigh of relief as Bella opened the bedroom door. "What the fuck are you doing? I have a doorbell,"

"I didn't want to scare you," he replied with a shrug.
