"How was she?" I asked Jace as soon as he walked back through the door to the cabin.

Jace motioned for me to move out of the doorway and let him in. I sighed as I watched him slowly peel his jacket off and hang it up before sitting on the couch. I knew he was purposefully taking his time to annoy me, knowing I was as wound as a coiled spring.

"She's fine now that she knows you're alive. She thinks Luca and Matteo may be behind this, and she tried to batter me with a baseball bat. I told her that you would phone her. I think she will be much better when she hears your voice. I also told her that you wouldn't be able to see her for a while." he told me as he threw his phone at me.
