Chapter 1
Sanctuary Blood Bound Series Book 9   Amy Blankenship, RK Melton   Copyright © 2012 Amy Blankenship Second Edition Published by Amy Blankenship All rights reserved.Chapter 1 Nick parked his car a couple blocks from The Witch’s Brew. The truth was he needed a few minutes of brisk walking to wear off some of the adrenalin that had built up inside him. The word ‘overnighter’ was irritating the hell out of him and he wanted to find out if Gypsy’s definition of the word was the same as his. That… and this was as good excuse as any to get away from Devon and the mess he was in. He knew Devon would do anything for Envy, but that temper tantrum of his was going a bit too far. Nick blew his breath out wondering if he would have handled it any better than his big brother… doubtful. It also had to suck to have your personal thoughts exposed like that… especially when your thoughts involved injuring someone. If thoughts were a sin then this world was in big trouble.

Chapter 2
Chapter 2 Chad pulled into the driveway of Trevor’s apartment and parked beside Evey. He turned off the car and sat back for a moment thinking about everything that had happened in the last couple weeks. Between him and his sister, he didn’t know who was the most screwed up now… well okay, he’d let Envy win that one. Still, his hadn't been a cake walk either. Just the thought that he’d been killed and brought back to life by Kriss and Dean was nothing less than harrowing. It gave him the chills knowing he was supposed to be buried in a cemetery somewhere… over… done. In short, it scared the crap out of him. To make matters worse, neither Fallen seemed to know what the consequences of their actions would be on future events. He’d gone back to PIT headquarters to get his duffel bag and luckily caught Ren alone in his office. He’d taken the opportunity to again ask Ren if there was anything he should be aware of. Unfortunately, the all-knowing Ren didn’t know anything more than K

Chapter 3 To say Skye was confused was an understatement. He’d somehow gone from one prison into another, not realizing until it was too late. When he was unexpectedly freed from the trap that had imprisoned him and Misery together, he’d stalked the she-demon knowing she planned to release the demons that had been pulled into the rift. A large part of him actually hoped that Misery would succeed in her quest, but not for the reasons that some might believe. Just because he was a demon didn’t mean he liked his own kind. For centuries, he’d held onto the hope that Aurora was still alive in there somewhere and was trying to find her way back through to this world. However, when he saw what crawled out of the rift Misery opened, his hopes had crashed down around him and he was still in mourning. There was no way that Aurora could have survived among all of those monsters. He had been trapped with only one demon… Misery… and he’d still been able to feel the outside world. Being

Chapter 4
Chapter 4 In her dream, Aurora ran like her life depended on it. Shadows surrounded her on all sides and they were terrifying. It felt like she was running through a maze with no exit and dead ends at every corner. The terror that filled her was becoming overwhelming and she stumbled every few steps… tired of running… always running away from the powerful ones. No matter how far or how fast she ran the darkness was getting closer. She gasped loudly and her eyes flew open in fright. The stars twinkled above her and she suddenly realized there really was something powerful getting closer to her. Fresh from the fright of the dream and her heart still racing, Aurora quickly found her feet and stared toward the edge of the roof in fear. Exhaustion was beginning to take its toll, she was so tired… was she so wicked that even this sanctuary would not let her rest? Feeling the doorknob poke into her back, she fumbled for it and quickly opened the door. Hoping to avoid the powerful ene

Chapter 5
Chapter 5 A loud sound woke Aurora. She sat upright forgetting where she was for a moment. The sound abruptly silenced and she slid from the blankets to investigate. She crawled across the rooftop to the huge sanctuary sign and stood up behind the red lettering. Peeking around the edge of one of the letters, she saw two men parking a pair of two wheeled machines close to the doors. She’d seen humans riding these contraptions around the city and they traveled very fast. It made her question how they kept from killing themselves on them. Humans were fragile creatures and it was usually the brave ones that figured that out first. She tilted her head to the side curious when she heard male laughter and watched as they reached up to remove the odd looking helmets. Michael and Warren took off their helmets and grabbed their private bottles of heat from the saddlebags before walking toward the building. “I won that one,” Michael said. “You did not,” Warren shot back. “I had

Chapter 6 Aurora felt him coming up the stairs like a silently raging storm and didn’t know whether to hide or flee. To be honest, she didn’t even know what to say to him and started backing up toward the roof’s edge. If worse came to worse, she would kick him back down the stairs like she’d done the other man. She flinched the second the door opened and watched as his gaze quickly found her. She frowned when he suddenly looked up at a device on the wall that she hadn't noticed before and crushed it in his hand. When his amethyst eyes slowly lowered back to her, she became even more nervous and took another step back… not realizing she had already made it to the edge of the roof. She didn’t have time to gasp in surprise when her foot met open air and she started to fall. In a sudden rush of confusing motion, Aurora found herself dangling from the roof and looking up at the hand that had captured hers. Looking past their hands, she gazed at him in all his wonder. His hair li

Chapter 7
Chapter 7 Nick rolled over in the bed and stretched his arms out to lift the crystal alarm clock so he could see what time it was. He smiled seeing he’d slept half the day away. He hadn't even bothered to return to Moon Dance since he’d talked himself into guarding the place night and day. He’d only meant to lay down in Gypsy’s bed for a few minutes. The problem was, once he’d stretched out he didn’t want to leave it… and hadn't. It had been very erotic being surrounded by her wonderful scent… a combination of the cherry blossom bath wash and apple scented shampoo she used, her natural scent that was very feminine, and arousal. He smirked wondering if it was him she was thinking of with that scent. With a sigh, he rolled over and buried his nose in her pillows… oh yeah, he was screwed. His eyes snapped open when he heard a key slip into the lock upstairs on the side door of the shop and turn. “Damn it!” Nick hissed and jumped out of bed, grabbing his clothes and quickly tug

Chapter 8 Devon sat in his room thinking about what Michael had told him. It wasn’t the easiest thing in the world to accept… but the vampire had made several valid points. With that in mind, he grabbed his jacket and made his way down the stairs. He turned toward the door that led out into the main area of the club and paused. Shaking his head, he took the short cut labeled Emergency Exit and stepped out into the alley. The one thing he wanted more than anything was to find Envy and make sure she was all right. Foregoing the car, he started walking and felt his confidence begin to build back up with each step. Michael was right… he didn’t take her away from Trevor the first time. She wanted him just as much as he wanted her and that would never change. Devon stopped at the next intersection and thought for a moment before turning the corner and heading downtown. Kriss had taken Envy so it was only common sense that he’d taken her to his penthouse. Of course, it was very li

Chapter 9
Chapter 9 “Why is there nothing in the PIT data base about the guardians?” Ren asked curiously as he rocked his computer chair back and forth before turning it around to face his best friend who was once again sprawled out on the sofa. “I’ve even checked the Vatican records and there’s no mention of them.” Storm shook his head, “I’ve never allowed it to be entered into any system… especially the Vatican secret vaults.” “Why?” Ren hated sounding like a child but when you knew almost everything, it was the little things you didn’t know that annoyed the hell out of you. Storm lazily turned his head to look at Ren, “Answer me this. If you were a very powerful demon and wanted to know the world’s secrets… were would be the first place you’d look for that kind of information?” “The Vatican hidden vaults,” Ren repeated in a bored voice. He leaned his chair back so he could stare up at the ceiling wishing he knew the secrets about the five men that lived on the third floor of th

Chapter 10 Gypsy looked in the mirror and undid the messy bun she had half her hair up in. Fluffing it out, she was satisfied when the long dark curls fell around her in disarray. It reminded her of the movies she’d seen with Gypsies in them… their hair all long curls, and beautiful. She’d even taken to dressing in the traditional Gypsy clothing when she’d started helping her grandpa out. At first it had been a game of dress up to her, almost cliché, but now it just felt wrong to wear anything else. She’d quickly decided it was just as strange as what a lot of the LA girls were wearing so why fight it. Taking another look in the mirror, Gypsy contemplated freshening up the little bit of makeup she had on but finally decided against it. Nick probably wouldn’t notice anyway and she wasn’t the type to overdo the make-up thing. Natural was more her style. She walked to the front door so she could unlock it for Nick but stilled when she saw the shop reflected back at her in the
