Chapter 9: Good News

Beyond my quarters, I can feel the sun slowly starting to set. Its warmth is disappearing from every inch of the forest until there is nothing but cold air and darkness that fills every corner of my Pack.

I opened my eyes and am greeted by nothing but that same darkness I have become familiar with since that day many years ago. The day I realized I was no ordinary wolf, that something else inside me lurked.

Sometimes I wonder if I am already dead, because waking up in total darkness makes me feel as if I am buried somewhere deep underground.

I let out a deep sigh before pushing my sheets off of me and setting my feet on the cold marble floor. The chilly feeling of it instantly tells me that I am one hundred percent alive and that my body is still on this godforsaken Earth.
