Waking Up

SERENITY'S POV

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP....

As my hearing slowly returns to me I can hear the beeping of the machines near me. I try to open my eyes but they feel so heavy.

Just laying there listening to my surroundings I can hear what sounds like muffled sobs and someone holding my hand.

I stay perfectly still and keep my heart rate steady and breathing even so that whoever is there doesn't realize I'm awake yet.

I try to see if I can find out who it is by their scent without drawing attention to me.

I gently breath in through my nose and get the scent of the person in the room with me.

I get the scent of sandlewood and linen. Why is Skyler in my room? I keep laying there hoping he might say something so I can figure out why his here.
