Chapter 39

Wisdom opens the jewelry box and chuckles as she’s looking at her mother’s jewelry. “I don’t believe this.” She walks over to one of the artwork boxes and rips it open. “This is the painting that was in my dining room.”

“Girl, your clothes are in this one.” Idris is holding up one of Wisdom’s dresses.

“Why would a person move my things out before burning my house down?” Wisdom looking between Carmine, and Beauden. Both men are looking confused. So she looks at Einar and Deshal, they’re also looking at her confused.

Kiri walks over to her, “we’ll figure it out. At least you have your belongings and that’s the main thing. I’m just as confused as everyone else.” She picks up a picture of Carmine holding infant Wisdom. Kiri cut her eyes at Carmine, and then she hugged Wisdom. “Like everything else, it will be revealed soon. Right now, you have more important matters to tend to. Now tell us the reason you wanted to meet with us.”
