Chapter 7

As Ethan got closer to the heart of the werewolf pack's settlement, his heart beat hard in his chest. The moon was high in the night sky, giving the familiar places a strange light. The faint sounds of the pack reminded him of the life he used to have.

As he walked into the open, his eyes went straight to Gabriel, who was standing tall and firm in the middle. When he saw Ethan, the alpha's eyes grew wide with surprise. His lips parted as if to speak, but no words came out.

Ethan stepped forward without hesitating, his voice calm with purpose. He said, "Gabriel, we need to talk," and he never took his eyes off the alpha's face.

Everyone in the group kept their eyes on what was going on in front of them. Gabriel's face went from being surprised to a mix of fear and hope. "Ethan, please," he begged as he moved closer. "Give me the chance to explain."

Ethan stopped, and his feelings were all over the place. He had come here to find answers and the truth, but Gabriel's powerful presence made him feel different things. He wanted to believe that they could have a second chance and that they could still love each other.

But just as he was about to say something, a figure came out of the darkness, making everyone in the group gasp. It was Amelia, who had a wicked look in her eyes.

"I see you've finally come to confront your dear alpha, Ethan," Amelia sneered, her voice dripping with disdain. "But I have to warn you that the truth might not be as simple as you think."

Ethan's heart sank as he looked back and forth from Gabriel to Amelia. He had thought he knew how big the lie was, but now he wasn't sure anymore. What could he find out next? What else had been added to his world that was not true?

When Gabriel turned to face Amelia, his face was red with anger. "What have you done?" he yelled in a voice full of anger.

Amelia laughed, and the sound was so scary that it made Ethan shiver. "My dear Gabriel, it looks like you were never the real goal. "Ethan was always the prize," she said, fixing a wicked gleam in her eyes on Ethan's.

Before Ethan could understand how serious what she said was, a sharp pain erupted in his chest. He fell backward and grabbed his heart as blood covered his hands. The people in the group gasped in fear as they watched in shock.

Gabriel's face turned red with anger, and his alpha instincts took over any questions he still had. He yelled, "No!" and charged at Amelia with a wild fury.

Chaos broke out in the scene as Ethan's vision got blurry and the darkness seemed like it would swallow him up. He tried hard to stay awake, and his mind was racing as he tried to figure out the strange game that had been played. He looked at Gabriel with his last bit of strength and quietly begged for the truth and forgiveness.

As the world went dark, the truth was just out of reach, leaving Ethan in a moment of confusion and approaching danger.

Ethan stood alone in the Moonlit Meadow. Gabriel's rejection still hurt him deeply. He was bathed in the soft light of the moon's magical glow, which told him he would get better and get another chance. He took a deep breath, ready to find comfort in the night's mysterious embrace.

Just as he closed his eyes, he caught a whiff of an enticing smell that sent shivers down his spine. He opened his eyes wide and looked for the sound. She was standing at the edge of the field, and the sight of her took his breath away.

Amelie Blackwood. Her jet-black hair fell down to her shoulders and framed her pretty face. He looked into her eyes, which were the color of midnight, and saw her smile. She moved forward, her presence dominating and alluring.

"Ethan Hartley, what brings you here?" Amelia's voice was like a seductive tune that made his heart beat faster. "Are you asking the moon for help?"

Ethan's heart was pounding as he carefully approached her. He was drawn in by her mysterious air. "I... I wanted to be alone. Some of you get it. And I found it here with you."

Amelia's eyes shone with interest, and her voice was full of mystery. "Do you think second chances are real, Ethan? Do you think that you can change your future?"

Ethan paused because he kept thinking about how Gabriel had turned him down. "I... I would like to believe. But how can I get back to trusting? How can I let someone in when I know they could hurt me?"

Amelia moved closer to him and reached out to touch his cheek with her hand. "Sometimes the worst pain can lead to the best happiness. Sometimes, the Moon Goddess puts us through tests to see if we deserve the love we want.

When she touched him, a jolt of energy went through his blood and washed away any questions he still had. At that moment, Ethan knew he had a choice to make—one that could change the course of his life.

When they kissed, it was fierce and intense, and it started a fire that burned them both. As their bodies moved in a dance of desire, the moon's light got brighter and made them feel like they were in a dream. Ethan gave in to the intense feeling of connection he had with Amelia and got lost in the heady feeling.

As their bodies touched, Ethan's worries and fears went away and were replaced by a hunger for the love he had been denied. In Amelia's arms, he found a mending power that wasn't limited by fate. Their love burned brighter than the moon, and at that moment, Ethan understood that fate could be changed and that love could win over everything.

But as they lay there wrapped around each other, a low growl could be heard in the field. It was clear that it was Gabriel Rivers' voice. His appearance broke up the moment and gave the intense meeting a surprising turn.

Even though their bodies were still together, Ethan and Amelia turned their heads and looked into Gabriel's fiery eyes. Ethan saw regret, hunger, and a silent plea for forgiveness in that look.

Ethan was split between how close he had become to Amelia and how close he still was to Gabriel. Ethan's heart would be tried again in this moment of moonlight temptation, and the choice h

e made would change the course of his life forever.
