chapter 10

The Moonlit Meadow was filled with silver light and was a calm place for Ethan to go when his feelings were all over the place. He sat there with his legs crossed and felt the moon's gentle energy on his skin. Amelia was standing next to him, which was both comfortable and strange.

"You know," Amelia started, her voice a soft breath in the night breeze, "the Moonlit Meadow is a place of recovery and enlightenment. It has a way of bringing out the secret truths."

Ethan turned to look at her, and the moonlight caught in his eyes. "What are these hidden truths you're talking about?"

When Amelia looked at him, her dark eyes told him something was up. "Ethan, here's the truth about your heart. The real truth about what you want."

Before Ethan could say anything, the air around them changed, and he could smell something he knew. Angel Gabriel. He walked into the clearing and looked straight at Ethan.

"Ethan," Gabriel said with a voice that was both sad and determined. "I was an idiot, a dumb idiot. I shouldn't have turned you down. You were meant to be my partner, and I love you."

Ethan's heart was beating fast as he thought about the past and the present. He looked at Gabriel and tried to see if he was being honest. "Gabriel, I was so upset when you turned your back on me. I thought you wouldn't like me."

Gabriel moved one step closer and put out his hand. "Ethan, you are more than enough. You mean the world to me."

As Ethan paused, a sudden gust of wind blew through the field and swirled around them. The moon in the sky seemed to shine even brighter, giving Amelia a spooky light. No longer mysterious, her eyes were now filled with sadness.

"Ethan," she said in a shaky voice. "There's something important you need to know about me."

Ethan turned to her with a racing heart. "What's that?"

Amelia inhaled deeply. "I am not who you think I am. I'm not just a random woman you happened to meet. I have things to hide, Ethan. There are secrets that could make a big difference.

Gabriel's brows creased as he looked from Amelia to Ethan. "What on earth is she talking about?"

But before Amelia could answer, a frightening howl cut through the night. Ethan's best friend Olivia was calling for him. There was something wrong.

Ethan stood up, torn between the new information in front of him and the immediate threat from the pack. "I need to leave. I'm needed by Olivia."

He turned and ran toward the sound, leaving Gabriel and Amelia behind as their voices faded into the moonlit night.

When Ethan got to where the pack lived, he found chaos. The pack was being attacked by a bunch of wolves that had gone off on their own. Olivia was right in the middle of the fight, with her claws and teeth out.

Ethan joined the fight because he felt like it. It was a brutal dance of life, with the clash of fur and teeth and the smell of blood and sweat.

But despite all the chaos, Ethan couldn't get rid of the feeling that his world was coming apart. Gabriel's statement, Amelia's secrets, and now this attack were all linked, and the truth was just waiting to be shown.

As the fight went on, Ethan couldn't help but wonder if he was about to find out something that would change everything or if he was about to get deeper into a web of secrets and danger.

The moon hung in the sky, a quiet witness to the secrets of the night. Its pale light shone on a world on the verge of being revealed.

During the fierce fight, Ethan was led by his senses. Claws met claws, teeth hit teeth, and deep growls and painful yelps filled the air. Every moment was a tornado of rage and chaos.

He saw Olivia, whose eyes were wide with fear as she fought off a wild wolf that was twice her size. Ethan went straight for the person who was hurting him, snarling as he did so. He jumped on the bad guy and knocked them both to the ground. Their fight was a blur of fur and muscle, a frantic battle for power.

But as soon as Ethan got the upper hand, he felt a sharp pain in his side. He cried out in pain, but it was too late for him to notice that another rogue had joined the fight and was biting into his side.

Ethan fought back, and his reflexes took over as he felt a rush of energy. He killed the second thief in a cruel way and then went back to the first. Olivia joined him because his presence made her feel stronger, and together they beat the rogue and sent it away.

Ethan took a deep breath and looked around the battlefield. The rogues had been driven away, but the pack had lost some members in the process. In the middle of all the chaos, he saw Gabriel keeping his ground and guarding their pack members, even though he was hurt and had blood on him.

Ethan's eyes stayed on Gabriel for a moment as he thought about what Gabriel had said to him earlier. "We were meant to be together, and I love you."

But before he could think about it any more, Olivia ran to him with a worried look on her face. "Ethan, it hurts you. You must go back to the pack house."

Ethan nodded, even though his side hurt a lot. Together, they went back to the pack house, where the hurt people were being cared for. Even though the immediate danger had been dealt with, the night was still tense.

As a doctor took care of his cuts, Ethan's mind went a mile a minute. The fight had made it clear how important the situation was. The rogue attack, Amelia's secrets, and Gabriel's statement were all parts of a puzzle that he had to figure out.

After his cuts were cleaned and bandaged, Ethan got up, his eyes burning with purpose. He had to find out what was going on, and he had to do it right away.

Olivia went up to him because she knew he was determined. "What are your plans?"

Ethan looked at her and spoke in a strong tone. "I have to speak with Amelia. There's more to her than meets the eye, and I think she's the key to figuring out what's going on."

Olivia nodded to show that she got it. "Watch out, Ethan. We're not sure who to trust."

Ethan totally agreed. With one last look at the pack house, he turned and went back to the Moonlit Meadow, where secrets and new information were waiting for him under the moon's watching eye.
