CHAPTER 1: NEVER EVER

"You look ravishing, Luna," Beatrice said as she styled her hair into a ponytail with coils at the front.

"Do you think so?"Katherine asked, turning to face Beatrice. For some reason, she trusted Beatrice more than all the maids in the Mansion, but Beatrice played with her trust and thrashed it like it was a dog's truth.

"Luna! Which of the dresses are you going for?" Beatrice asked, bringing out a green short gown with a split that ended at Luna's thighs.

"Which of them do you love? The green sexy gown or the black powerful gown?" Luna questioned, pulling out another gown from her wardrobe.

"I don't know, Luna. I think the green sexy gown would suit you. Alpha appreciates such sexy clothes, you know?" Beatrice smiled as Luna took the gown from her hand.

"Really? Does that mean you've been seducing my husband with such a dress?" Luna retorted, and Beatrice opened and closed her mouth like a fish. Luna guessed she was surprised at how she found out she was sleeping with her husband, even to the point of getting pregnant — such audacity!

"I'm sorry, Luna!" Beatrice pleaded, falling to the ground.

"Sorry, for what exactly? I understand that you're just a maid who had to give in to your Alpha's desires. I honestly do understand," Luna muttered and touched Beatrice's shoulders.

"You do?" Beatrice asked, cleaning the tears from her eyes.

"Of course, but that doesn't mean you won't go unpunished," Katherine said, and she saw the fear in Beatrice's eyes. Beatrice, of all the maids, knows what Luna is capable of doing — the height at which she would go just to keep the Alpha to herself.

"I would let your child become the only illegitimate child on one condition," Luna said, staring at her new polished nails.

"What is it, Luna?" Beatrice said, and Luna turned to her, giving her a mischievous smile.

"Camilla, I want to get rid of her. Make her lose her pregnancy and make sure she doesn't survive it," Luna said, and Beatrice gasped.

"You're asking me to kill the first lady?" Beatrice asked, looking around as if to be sure no one heard her say such.

"And is that considered a big deal? It's you against them!" Luna half yelled, and Beatrice inhaled and exhaled slowly.

"I would do it. Anything for you, Luna," she muttered, and Luna smiled.

"Good, let me know when you're done with the tasks," Luna said, putting on the green short gown.

As Luna walked out of her room, the first person she laid her eyes on was Luciano Salvatore, her husband and Alpha of the pack.

She was forcefully married to him on her eighteenth birthday. She cursed the moon goddess for allowing such calamity to befall her until she realized he was her mate.

She was supposed to be happy at least, but instead, day and night, she fought for her place in his heart. She wasn't even sure if he had a heart, let alone a place in it.

"You're back? I thought you had emergencies you needed to sort out?" Luna asked, sitting opposite him.

He had his usual whiskey and a cigar on the other hand. His buttons from the first to the third were opened, displaying his tattooed chest.

"Am I not allowed to come back to my house again?" Luciano asked, turning his back to Luna.

"You must be stressed out," Luna said and held his shoulder. She tried massaging his back when he held her hand, and she winced.

"Katerina, I am fucking tired of you! Can't you just stay away!?" He shouted, standing up.

His grip on her wrist was tight, and it was hurting her badly.

"Luciano, stop! You're hurting me!" Luna pleaded as he moved closer to her.

"Am I asking for too much? Stay away from me! At least if you can't produce an heir for me, why don't you give me space!?" He retorted.

"I'm sorry, Luciano! Let me go!" Luna whimpered, and he pushed her off, making her hit her head on the couch.

"Alpha! Your guests have arrived!" His beta Edward said, entering the sitting room.

Luna quickly sat up and adjusted her dress, putting on a fake smile.

"Luna," he bowed, and she smiled.

"I will be there in a minute," Luciano replied and walked out of the sitting room.

"Beta Edward, if I may ask, who are these guests? Luciano doesn't usually invite people," Luna said, and he walked closer to her.

"He invited Alpha Darrell, the leader of the Vipers Clan. I'm sure you must have heard of him."

"Of course. But why would he do such? I thought we were not on good terms with their pack. Does he want to ally with him?" Luna rushed her question, while he opened his mouth and closed it back.

"I'm not in the position to speak of that. Besides, the Alpha should have let you know," he said, and Luna exhaled softly.

"Thanks, you may leave."

Luciano sat down while listening to Alpha Darrell; he seemed to be talkative, and Luciano was already getting pissed off with his long speech.

He watched as he talked about his history, and from the two minutes they spent, Luciano concluded that he was far from being mature.

"Where's your wife? I heard the Luna of this pack is so beautiful and charming," Alpha Darrell said, smiling as he sipped his wine.

"Have you come to look at my wife or talk business with me?" Luciano asked, giving him a stern look.

"You must be a possessive man. I like Dominant men," Alpha Darrell laughed, and Luciano rolled his eyes at how a pack leader would keep making such stupid jokes.

"You must be Alpha Darrell?" Luciano held Katherine’s voice and frowned.

Must she come to display her stupidity and those fake, annoying smiles? Ugh!

"Wow, Just like the gossip. You look ravishing, breathtaking, milady," Alpha Darrell said, kissing her hands.

For a minute, Luciano wanted to touch his face, but that would be a waste of energy, especially since he was flirting with Katerina.

"I have never seen an Alpha who listens to gossip; you must be jobless!" Luciano sneered, and Katerina chuckled softly.

"I find it attractive, a man who listens to his citizens' whispers would be considered a great ruler!" Katerina replied, and Luciano shot her a glare.

"I suppose you don't have good taste then," Luciano replied to her, and she bit her lower lip.

"But you married her, which means your taste is more horrible," Alpha Darrell replied, and Katerina laughed as he folded his fist angrily.

"Anyways, I'm single and he does know how to spoil a woman," Alpha Darrell said, winking at his wife. How dare he?

Filtering with his wife in his presence, just how absurd and stupid he is.

His attention was diverted when Edward, his beta, whispered something into his ear, and his eyes widened with shock as he stood.

"If you excuse me," he said, but it seemed like they were engaged in their two coconuts conversation. He rolled his eyes and walked away, let's see if she's going home with him while he leaves.

What a second, why does he feel so angry and irritated right now?

"You're jealous," his wolf, Luther, said, and he scoffed. Why on earth would he be jealous of Katerina? She's nothing but a commodity that he bought and can dispose of any time he wishes.

"What is it?" he asked as they walked into the lobby.

"Camilla, she lost her pregnancy," Beta Edward said, and his eyes widened.

"What!?" He retorted.

"Find out who's responsible for the crime before midnight," he said and stormed into her room.

"Alpha," Camilla's tiny voice called as she lay on the bed, looking pale and worn out.

"Camilla!" he called and held her hands.

Camilla was his childhood friend who eventually turned out to be his only lover. He would have gotten married to her, but his father was against it since she was an orphan.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know… I didn't know there was something in the food," she muttered as hot tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Hey, it's okay!" he muttered and kissed her forehead before placing a gentle kiss on her lip.

"I'm tired… I feel like… I feel like," she said and started crying, and at this point, he felt like taking the pain into his body.

"Camilla! You have to be strong, okay? Let me take you to the hospital," he said and jacked her up, carrying her in a bridal way.

Rushing downstairs, Katerina walked in with a smile that disappeared immediately when she saw him carrying Camilla.

"What's wrong?" She asked, but he rolled his eyes and pushed her away from the door as he rushed out of the house.

"Get my car!" he shouted, and the guards rushed to get the car.

He got in the car, and they drove off speedily while he kept staring at Camilla's hazel eyes.

Her tears already wetted his shirt as he pulled her closer to a hug, kissing her already messed-up hair.

"Promise me, you will smile once more. Just like the days we spent," she said as her hands went to his face and she smiled.

"I promise you, okay, just don't give up on me! I swear I will fulfill my promises to you, get married to you, and live happily ever after with you," he said and she smiled dryly.

"There's no need for a happy ending. I'm happy I spent it with you," she muttered and exhaled slowly before her hands fell off his cheeks, and his eyes widened at the shock.

"No! No! Hurry up!" he shouted, hitting the driver's seat as he increased his pace, and almost immediately a train came out, and they collided with it before his vision blacked out.

Katerina kept pacing around the room, her heartbeat was so wild that someone at the door entrance might hear it.

"Luna, you sent it to me!" Beatrice said coming in.

"I see you've completed your task," she muttered and held her hands. "I don't know what I would have been able to do without you," she added, and Beatrice smiled.

"Anything for you, Luna," she said, and she smirked devilishly.

"Why don't we take a stroll outside?" she said, and Beatrice nodded while walking off with her. "How do you see working here?" she asked, and Beatrice sighed softly.

"Unbearable, but I must serve the Alpha and Luna with all my heart," she replied, and Luna nodded, standing at her back as they got to the balcony.

"You're an omega after all, what choice do you have?" Luna questioned and kicked her back, making her fall off the cliff.

"No one takes my place in this house," she muttered and walked out.

Just as she was about to walk head to her room, Beta Edward came out from his hideout, and she gasped, feeling her heart skip a beat.
