Chapter 6: The Arrival

Alpha Luciano kept pacing around the room. Something big was about to happen, his wolf could sense it but what it was exactly, he just couldn't place a finger on it. Over the past few months, he had been able to revive his company through the help of the returned investors and his new one, Katherine. He still couldn't understand why she chose to help him but then again, she never missed any chance to spell it out that both he and his company were under her mercy. She would take every opportunity she got to show off her protruding belly to rub it in his face but instead of feeling jealous every time she did it, he would always feel a sense of belonging. There was something about her pregnancy that just kept calling out to his wolf and at first, it was weird but over, he started assuming it was just because he and Katherine once shared a special and intimate bond

As each day passed by, he would always feel restless. His wolf was always calling out to Katherine and in this desperate feat, he had once tried to mind link with her but it didn't connect

“Shit! Screw all this” he yelled, focusing back on his work. As the company slowly started getting back on its feet, he constantly had a lot to do, having to supervise every department himself to avoid any form of regression once again. A knock came from the door and he ushered the person to come in. He looked up to see his secretary and the timid lady quietly walked in

“What is it, Brenda?” He asked, returning his focus to the files but after receiving no response from her for a while, he then raised his head to look back at her

“Are you going to tell me what you are here for or what?”

“A.. a.. actually sir…”

“Go straight to the point”

“Mrs Katherine just sent a mail that she would like to withdraw her investments from the company”

“What? How could she do that? Give it to me” Brenda instantly brought out the tablet for him to see and he cursed angrily. Katherine knew how much his company currently needed her and he just couldn't understand why she would just pull away like that

“You know what, tell my assistant to cancel all my meetings for today, I have to go,” he said, grabbing his suit and phone from the table. He went straight into his elevator, leaving the relieved Brenda on her own in the office. He went straight to the garage where his driver was supposed to be waiting for him. He however found the car empty and then took out his spare keys, opening the car door and revving up the engines. The loud sound of the Range Rover engines attracted the attention of the driver who was busy stuffing his mouth and also his ears with premium gossip! He rushed to meet his Alpha and the latter frowned upon seeing him run towards the car looking so disheveled to behold.

“Alpha please wait! A.. Alpha” he beckoned terrified as he could already tell the result of his actions. Alpha Luciano let the window down and the driver who had thought he was going to be pardoned smiled in relief till he heard his alpha's next statement

“You can drop the keys off with my assistant since you've already found yourself another job” The smile on the driver's face instantly dropped as he instantly knew what Alpha Luciano meant by that

“Sir, please! I beg you to please forgive me, I have a wife and two children Alpha, please” his pleas were all turned deaf ear as the Alpha closed the car window and zoomed off. To him, having lazy workers was just a waste of resources. He zoomed his car straight to the Scott residence and the gates instantly opened when he reached there, much to his surprise. He stayed motionless for a while till he heard his phone ring. He grabbed it and saw that it was Katherine

“What do you want from me?” He said immediately after picking up the call

“You better reduce that tone of yours right this minute and drive in“ she replied and then cut off the call. He gritted his teeth angrily and reluctantly drove in. As soon as he had carefully parked the car, he immediately got down and walked straight in. Katherine was elegantly seated with a chill glass of juice in her hand and as soon as she heard the opening and closing of the door followed by steady footsteps, she quietly smirked.

“Welcome, I see you're having a bad day today as you should” he sighed to control his anger and he quietly sat down

“I didn't offer you a seat but it's fine, I always attempt to be pleasant to all my guests. So Mr Salvatore, what brings you to my humble abode?” she asked, doing her usual belly-rubbing act to annoy him

“Well, Mrs Katherine..”

“Correction, it is Mrs Katherine Raymond Scott” Alpha Luciano was slowly starting to lose it. He closed his mouth and violently gritted his teeth before breathing out a deep sigh.

“Alright, my apologies for the mistake. I only came here to professionally meet you about your sudden change in agreement”

“And what may that be about?”

“We both had an agreement where you gave your full support to investing in my company, but today I'm receiving an email that you would be pulling out from it and so I just came to meet you and ask why the sudden change”

“Well, when we had this agreement we didn't discuss what I would be getting from it, as in my profit from the whole agreement and so I've decided not to waste my resources on what's not profitable”

“But it was discussed that the profits made after our sales would be shared between all investors”

“Well, that's not enough! I want you to beg for my help”

“What?”

“I want you to go down on your knees and beg for me to invest back in your company else you may as well just get out of here” That was the last straw for Alpha Luciano, he just couldn't take it anymore!

“You must be out of your damn mind to think I'd do that, goodbye” he angrily responded, standing up to leave. Katherine yelped in pain and he looked back to see her holding onto her belly. She cried out but this time even louder

“What's wrong?”

“It's time, ah, it's time” he looked down to see that her water had broken and he instantly ran into panic mode. He didn't know what he was going to do so he called out to anyone that was at home. Ma'am Sarah instantly rushed in and on seeing her Luna in that state, she instantly ran up to get all the delivery bags they had packed for the D-day

Luciano on the other hand carried her alongside her bodyguard Alex outside and into the car. Ma'am Sarah rushed to join them and within no time, they instantly zoomed straight to the hospital. While on the way, ma'am Sarah put a call across to Alpha Raymond who was already in town and not too far from the house. On hearing the news, he instantly ordered the driver to go straight to the hospital and just like that, the expectant delivery and tension of both children being born filled everyone

They got to the hospital and Katherine was instantly welcomed. Her delivery had been well prepared for and she was immediately attended to before everyone else. Halfway to her complete dilation, Alpha Raymond arrived and he wasted no time in rushing straight into the delivery room. Luciano was quietly seated on the outside but on the inside, his wolf was beyond anxious. He was tense and though he was still looking a bit calm and collected, it was very obvious that he was tense about the whole thing. His phone was constantly ringing but the only thing he could focus on was Katherine and her baby. There was something about Katherine and the child that just wasn't adding up and his wolf was daring to bust open the doors and go hold her hand throughout the whole delivery process. After a long while, Alpha Raymond stepped out and faced Luciano before speaking

“Thank you for bringing my wife here but it's been a couple of hours and you should have left a long time ago, your presence isn't needed”

“And what if I decide to stay?” Katherine's yells accompanied by a couple of “one more push Luna” filled the whole floor and Alpha Raymond instantly rushed back in, leaving the anxious Luciano even more anxious. After a while, the room suddenly had a bit of silence and cries were immediately heard from the delivery room. At this point, alpha Luciano just couldn't hold himself back anymore as his wolf had borne more than enough of the whole thing. He barged in anxiously and was met with a beautiful yet heartbreaking scene for him. There he was, standing by the door to witness a teary Katherine smiling at the two children she had just given birth to while Raymond was busy planting kisses all over her face. Alpha Luciano's wolf growled and he just stood there, lost for words for a long while

Alpha Luciano's inner turmoil mirrored the chaos in the room. Katherine, tears of joy streaming down her face, cradled the newborn twins. The air was charged with emotions, and Luciano's wolf growled in frustration at the unexpected turn of events. He stood there, silent and bewildered.

Katherine noticed him at the door and smirked, revelling in the impact of her revelation. "Surprised, Alpha Salvatore? Meet our beautiful children," she said, emphasizing the possessive "our." Luciano clenched his fists, struggling to comprehend the surreal scene before him.

Alpha Raymond, oblivious to Luciano's internal struggle, continued showering Katherine with affection. The room, once filled with tension, now buzzed with the cries of the newborns. The scent of a fresh pack member filled the air, intensifying Luciano's internal conflict.

The nurse gently handed one of the infants to Katherine, who held them close, her eyes locking onto Luciano's. "Looks like your destiny has taken an unexpected turn, Alpha," she taunted, relishing the discomfort she had caused.

Unable to contain himself any longer, Luciano's wolf surged forward. "What game are you playing, Katherine?" he demanded, his voice low and guttural. Katherine merely grinned, savouring the chaos she had unleashed.

As the atmosphere thickened with tension, Alpha Raymond stepped between Luciano and Katherine, asserting his dominance. "This is a joyous moment for our pack. Your presence here only disrupts the harmony. Leave," he ordered, the authority in his voice leaving no room for argument.

Luciano, torn between his wolf's instincts and the reality of the situation, reluctantly retreated. The door closed behind him, leaving him in the corridor, a cocktail of emotions swirling within. The revelation of Katherine's twins had shifted the dynamics, and Luciano couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the story than met the eye.

As he walked away, the cries of the newborns echoed in his ears, a constant reminder of the intricate web of fate that had entangled them all. The moon, a silent spectator to the unfolding drama, cast an ethereal glow on the conflicted Alpha as he navigated the corridors of the hospital, uncertain of what lay ahead.
