Chapter nine.

Cassandra awoke the next day a bit later than usual. After the events of the week, both bad and good, she had been mentally and physically exhausted and did need the rest.

Luckily, she had planned ahead and not scheduled any appointments for the day, knowing she would most likely be tired from being out late with Eloise the night before.

Cassandra slowly got out of bed and made her way to the kitchen, and fixed herself a cup of steaming hot coffee. She decided she would stay home and get some cleaning and laundry done. If she still had the energy, she could also maybe do some grocery shopping later.

Anything she could do these days to keep herself busy was a step in the right direction in keeping Johnathan out of her thoughts. Although, after last night, images of Jason were creeping into the corners of her mind and taking over.

Cassandra picked up her phone and read the text message from him a few more times as a smile crept across her face.
