CHAPTER 6

"Who are you calling a murderer?" Jason demanded with so much anger in his eyes as he rose up abruptly.

I was already prepared to step up.

"You buddy. How about you tell her about that night?" Eli asked him

"What night? What is he talking about Jason?" I asked my husband

"Nothing, he's full of lies Miriam. Let's send him away." Jason said

"Or we could both tell our sides of the story." Eli said

"There is no story to tell." Jason yelled

"Oh but there is and I have a lot to say for that night fifteen years ago." Eli said

"You're delusional." Jason said to him

"Am I?" Eli demanded

"Enough both of you. We are going to take these things out without waking the kids or alerting the neighbors who by the way if you have forgotten are all humans." I said, reminding them when I noticed the change in their eye colors.

It took some time but then they both calmed down or rather pretended to calm down as they returned to their seats. I was glad I was beginning to get a hang of the situation but if I was being real, I was beginning to suspect that my dear husband has a lot of secrets and he might actually really know Jason and everything about that night. I had asked him severally in the past if he had known anything about any werewolf roaming the woods the night I had been stuck there but he had vehemently denied the knowledge of such things. He stated that he might have been a werewolf but he never came to those woods at night. On the other hand in the past, Eli had once said that those woods were really special to werewolves especially on nights of the full moon. I had dismissed those pairs of eyes to have been my imagination but right now, it was beginning to prickle my memory like it really was something important to all of this.

I looked now at Jason who was seated to my right and Jason on my left. They both were glaring when I cleared my throat and demanded that Jason proceeded with his own side of the story. Whichever way, we would certainly be getting to the root of everything tonight. I glanced at the clock ticking steadily and it was already 11:32pm and that meant a lot to me. I wanted to get all this sorted out so by the morning, I would know what fate has in stock for me. I asked Eli to please continue with what he was about saying and he nodded.

Eli had begun his side of the story.

Accordingly he had received a call that time when he was with me from my mom. It was a distress call and he could hear the sound in the background. She had called to say that they were stuck in the house and it was on fire. He had not wanted to cause me to be alarmed so he decided to leave me in the woods as he was thinking it was just some normal fire which he could put out. He also would not want me to panic so he had to leave.

He got to the house only to realize that the fire was really bad and there were people already gathered outside calling for the fire fighters of the county. None was answering and as he said so, I saw myself glance at Jason. His brother was in charge of the firefighters.

"We received no calls that night because all our lines were down." Jason defended but I said nothing.

Eli continued.

He decided to go find a way to rescue them but to his surprise, someone had locked them in on the outside and there was some sort of wooden seal nailed like it was intentional. He had no idea but then he started kicking again from the back door when someone had suddenly covered his face. Before he could struggle, he was injected with something that not only weakened his body but then it was burning him on the inside. He had been taken from around the back and when he woke up, it was deep in other parts of the wood that he found himself. It felt scary and strange but he was weak and surrounded by people. He tried to get up and fight but the least he could do was half sit up as it felt like his body was on fire. It was wolfsbane. The most poisonous thing anyone could give a werewolf.

The leader of the pack that had attacked him had squatted in front of him and touched his face before laughing that he was the last of the Sky Vale pack and how he was subsuming power by finishing them off. It was all about power and the fact that they werewolves could no longer keep unnecessary peace when they should be dominating. However, he told Eli that it was so unfortunate that he would never see it happen nor would he die quickly. He was going to make him suffer.

Quickly, he had already dug a grave and had a coffin made of pure argentum (silver) ready. He wore strong gloves before proceeding to point at something to Eli who followed with his eyes. There was a whole field of wolfsbane in that wood. There was also one that was so long they connected its extensions into the coffin where they put Eli into. These extensions were wrapped around him but more around his neck and he slowly felt his life leaving him. He could not even fight for his freedom before he had his coffin plunged into the grave while he was still alive and there he had been buried. In the fields of wolfsbane.

This was where he remained for the last fifteen years and he eventually slipped into semi death which is something popular with the supernatural. There he remained asleep for all these fifteen years. No one found him. No one at least until something strange had happened.

Apparently someone had come and cleared the area where he had been buried which included the wolfsbane field. There was construction ongoing and it took him weeks to revive as the wolfsbane around his neck had to die first before he could open his eyes and started banging at his coffin until it opened a little. For two nights, he had been weakly trying to find his way out. The previous night apparently it had rained the previous day too thereby washing the soil a little and making it lighter. He was able to fully open the coffin and crawled out. It took him time to revive himself but then he got enough strength to go to my place but I was not there. As it would seem, I have not been there for a really long time as he could not catch my scent. So he went through my things and from the picture in my sitting room, he had realized I was remarried but within town.

"How did you find me then?" I asked

"It was not hard really. I finally got a little strength thanks to my anger and my new found position as an Omega to capture one of his goons which by the way is dead." he said

"You did what?" Jason demanded angrily

"Fine but how can you accuse my husband?" I asked

"Because Miriam, he was that alpha that had buried me alive." Eli said.
