CHAPTER 18

MIRIAM'S POV

We had to leave that town with Jose and somehow, with him following us, I had a feeling of being protected. I had begun having these vivid dreams and visions that seemed to confuse me as they made me scared. It was all centered around the pain and destruction of the world but I always found myself awake the very moment I saw myself in a blur of lights. Jose would always explain it was one of the things a banshee experiences but even more was his warning that I needed to activate my werewolf properties as that was needed.

Eli would hear nothing of it as all he could think of was how painful it was going to be. He made certain we walked off road paths and into the woods so as not to encounter anything or anyone that would serve as a trigger to us.

It had been three nights in a row and my dreams were already taking shapes and mixtures with the dead. This particular night would have been the fourth and I was suddenly in a place as I heard whispering voices talking to me. I c
