A NICE MORNING

Chapter 24

8 a.m. SAME MORNING

Mike woke up with a yawn, he carefully moved Jesse away from his chest as he stretches his muscles. He climbed off the bed, moving stealthily toward the bathroom and soon the sound of running water could be heard.

Jesse stirred at the sound but she didn't wake up, a frown lined her forehead but soon eased away as she settled back into a deep slumber. It took Mike just a few minutes to finish taking his bath.

He carefully pried the door open, poked his head out to check if she is still sleeping and once he confirmed that she was still sound asleep, he tiptoed out of the bathroom and walked to the closet.

Dressed in a white plaid shirt, a wine-coloured suit and trousers to top it off, he went over to the table, picking up a piece of paper and a pen. He scribbled a few words on it and places it where she would easily find it when she woke up before making his way down the stairs.
