Chapter 49 I ran into fire

Lucas' POV

When I got upstairs, the whole corridor was blanketed by heavy, black smoke.

The fire was a raging inferno, a monster with a voracious appetite for destruction.

The building shook and groaned as the flames consumed it, chewing through the walls and ceilings like a beast gnawing on its prey. Smoke billowed out of the windows, a thick and choking cloud that obscured the sky.

The servants rushed about in a panicked frenzy, shouting and pointing as they tried to escape the fiery hell.

Fuck. Leo knows how to set up a fire.

One of them recognized me in the chaos, pushing me downstairs.

"Please don't go any further, Young Master Lucas! Go down!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.

"Where's Louisa?!" I shouted.

"I didn't see her! Please go downstairs, Young Master! The firefighters will come to rescue her!"

"Did you see Leo?!"

The man shook his head violently.

Oh. Fuck it.

I pushed him aside, removed my shirt, dampened it in the water, and ran directly into the fire.
