The loud clapping sounds resonated in the hall. Arjun was sitting on the stage with few other business associates.
People were looking at him with admiring eyes, however, some of them were looking at him with envy. He has achieved so much in this young age and they are not even close to his success.
Indeed, he has climbed a long ladder of difficulties which gave him all the success he has today.
Saanvi was happy as well, the event was going well by now. The guests seemed impressed with Arjun's product and the way he portrayed his product in front of them was quite impressive and convincing.
The guests started having their meal as it was 9:30 already. They enjoyed the snacks and beverages as well. Her stomach was grumbling loudly, though she didn't eat anything but had two glasses of soft drink which didn't do much help.
The guests started bidding their adieu to Arjun after half an hour. She checked the time and it was almost ten. She was talking to the caterer when she felt a presence behind her.
"Miss. Aggarwal" Arjun's deep voice made her turn around, he was standing just in front of her with a calm look on his face.
"Hello, Mr. Khanna. I hope you lik..
"It was perfect" he interrupted her making her blush at his statement. She bit her lip and nodded shyly.
"I am glad you liked it" she stated with a grateful look on her face. It felt like a huge burden has been lifted off her chest.
The event was finally over and Arjun Khanna liked it. She didn't disappoint him, which gave her feel so much relief.
"Had dinner?" Saanvi asked tugging a strand behind her ear.
"No. Let's have it together" Arjun replied with a small smile on his face. Saanvi didn't deny as she was really hungry and her mother has had her dinner as she has messaged her already.
"Okay" they both sat down on the chairs and the waiters started serving them.
Nitin was talking to some employees while they too were having dinner. All the guests left and now only the members of Khanna Industries and Saanvi's juniors were present in the hall.
Saanvi felt a bit awkward but she didn't show it on her face. The mouse in her stomach started jumping violently as she looked at her plate filled with delicacies.
The rich spicy aroma invaded her nostril. She was too lost in looking at the dishes that she didn't notice a pair of brown orbs staring at her.
She bit her lips and flustered as she finally looked at him.
He must be thinking of me as a greedy girl.
Why were you looking at the dishes like that?
She cursed herself mentally and cleared her throat awkwardly and smiled. Arjun chuckled lowly and gestured with his hand for her to start.
The fresh piece of roasted meat mixed with fried rice sent relief to her tastebuds as she took a spoonful. Her stomach this time jumped in happiness.
She wanted to moan out load because the dishes were so damn tasty. She wanted to use her hand as the spoon wasn't satisfying her tongue and her stomach.
Arjun was eating so less. Just some fried rice and mutton curry. His plate was almost empty while Saanvi's was filled with different cuisines in which she decided to eat her favouraite. Indian cuisine firstly.
"So, what's your future plan?" Arjun asked sipping his water.
"Umm..I want to open my own Event Organising firm, Mr. Khanna" she replied. A small smile grazing her lips making her look more beautiful.
"That's good" he mumbled and roamed his gaze all over her small face.
There is something about her which was attracting and affecting him at the same time. In this one week, he got habituated of her, of talking to her, of texting her.
He really appreciates her hardwork and her mindset. She isn't like other girls or women he has came across till now.
She never gave him seductive smiles. She never tried to come in his good books, though she did eventually but it wasn't her plan to do so.
The way her lips were touching the spoon, the way she was chewing her food. It was making him feel unusual feeling. He was getting aroused.
He isn't one of them who gets horny or is a manwhore. He never gave a fuck about sexual intimacies, but nowadays he was feeling all those things.
The fact that he won't get to see her again after this night, wasn't settling well with him. The thought of leading a lonely and colourless life was scaring him.
By just talking to her, he feels relaxed. She unknowingly brought so many colours to his dull life. He himself didn't know when he got habituated to her.
But is this really love?
Or just infatuation?
He dismissed all these thoughts as they are forbidden for him. He can't bring another life to his dull and dark world.
"Did you like it?" Her soft voice broke his trance as he confusingly looked at her. She was asking him about the food.
"Oh...yeah..it's good" he answered diverting his eyes from her face.
They both finished their plate after few minutes and now it was time to go home. The staff members already left and the employees were leaving after wishing Arjun a good night.
"Mam I have called the cab" Aaliya said to which Saanvi nodded. They both were going to leave together as their houses are in same area. Also, Saanvi didn't want to travel alone nor she wanted Aaliya to do the same, after all the young girl is her responsibility.
"Okay, Mr. Khanna. I will take my leave now. Thank you for giving me this chance, Sir" Saanvi stated showing her gratitude towards Arjun. She is indeed really grateful to him for giving her this opportunity.
"I should thank you, Miss. Aggarwal. The event was amazing as expected" Saanvi was shocked at his soft tone and facial expression. He was looking really really handsome and it was the first time Saanvi noticed him keenly tonight.
The moonlight was making his features more prominent.
Gray eyes with long eyelashes, chiseled jawline with stubble on his cheeks. His tall and muscular was as usual intimidating her.
"I will drop you" he said but Saanvi quickly shook her head.
"No no..actually we have already called the cab. So no need" she denied politely trying not to disrespect him in any way.
"I am not leaving you two to travel alone at this time, Miss" he stated firmly glancing shortly at the trembling figure beside or more like hiding behind Saanvi.
"Nitin" he called his P.A. and he stood in front of him in just two seconds, "drop her safely at her home, Miss.."
"Aaliya" Aaliya introduced herself still looking down.
"Drop Miss. Aliya and then go home" Nitin nodded at his order and asked Aliya to follow him to the car.
He knew the trembling girl would never agree to go with him as she was way too scared to even look into his eyes. He has observed her before and she looks quite comfortable around Nitin.
"Come" Saanvi wanted to go with Nitin but didn't want Arjun to feel offended in any way.
She glanced shortly at Aaliya who was looking at her as if asking for her permission. Saanvi nodded and told her to call her once she reaches safely.
They both sat inside the car and Arjun started the engine. His driver wasn't driving today for some reasons unknown to Saanvi.
A comfortable silence fell between them as the car ran smoothly on the clear yet slippery road.
The tiny droplets of rain were scattered all over the windows. A sigh escaped Saanvi's lips as she leaned her head on the window. She was finally feeling relieved after a whole week of anxiety and fear.
"Can I?" She asked gesturing towards the window. She wanted to feel the fresh air rather than the air conditioner in the car.
"Sure" he replied with a nod.
He watched her as she rolled down the window and her hair started wavering along the wind. The droplets touched her face making her happy.
It was getting hard for him to focus on the road. The view was so mesmerising that he didn't want to divert his gaze anywhere else.
The beating of his heart turned furious suddenly. The feeling came back which he had been trying to avoid for obvious reasons.
It was getting hard now to control the emotions. The desires were begging to get free from the cage.
His brows frowned as the sight of her small home came in his view. It was time to say goodbye.
"It was really amazing working with you, Sir. Thank you again for giving me this opportunity...and for the drive as well" she completed with a chuckle and tugged the wet strands behind her ear.
"You don't need to thank me, Miss. Aggarwal. I have already told you, right?" She nodded her head and smiled. His heart thumped wildly at her smile.
So genuine and so pure.
She made this night a pure bliss for him by her presence.
"Good night and drive safely" she wished opening the door to come out, "Ehhh....would you like to come inside?" She cursed herself for forgetting her manners and offered him while flushing badly.
"Nah, Miss. Thanks though for the offer" he teased while chuckling lowly which made her more embarassed.
She waved at him slowly and came outside. The small smile faded from his face as soon she left. A sudden emptiness, a hollowness...he felt these two things.
She turned around once reaching her door and found his car still there.
Namisha opened the door and Saanvi went inside. He started his car and decided to spend his night at that place, which brings him peace and frees him from all the sorrows.
A big grin was plastered on Saanvi's face as she entered inside her house. Namisha giggled seeing the happiness on her daughter's face. A sense of relief, she felt after witnessing her smiling face."So the event went well?"she questioned or more like stated while giving a glass of chilled water to her daughter."Ahhhh" Saanvi sighed as the cool liquid cascaded down her throat which was parched, "It went perfectly well, Maa. Mr. Khanna was really happy and he appreciated my work as well" Saanvi said making Namisha smile."See, I told you already" Saanvi nodded freeing her hair to let them fall on her back and shoulder."Mr. Khanna dropped me himself" Saanvi stated and Namisha's face fell a bit, "he didn't want us to travel alone at this time. So, Aaliya went with Nitin and I came with Mr. Khanna" she explained further."Oh..." Namisha went silent suddenly making her daughter confused."What happened? Maa?" She shook her mother's shoulder to gain her attention as she was staring at the
His heart was thumping wildly inside his chest. The anticipation was killing him. The wait was killing him.The time seemed to pass slowly, more than necessary. Or maybe, he wanted it to pass quickly, more than necessary. The black glass table was occupied with coffee mugs rather than his files. She wasn't late but his heart was dying to have a look at her.Arjun's heart skipped a beat when he heard a soft knock on the door. Quickly straightening his posture, he said a quick come in.A gush of fresh air entered as she stepped inside his cabin. The fresh air was brought by Saanvi only.He gulped as he took her in. The red sleevless top didn't fail to show her smooth arms. The red tint on her lips woke something inside him.He started feeling...aroused."Hello, Mr. Khanna" her sweet voice forced him to come out of his world as he cleared his throat and put a smile on his face. Her big eyes again stopped him to say anything as he found himself drowning in them. Anyhow, he controlled his
The windchime made a sweet soothing sound making a smile appear on Saanvi's face as she stepped out of the washroom. Throwing the towel on the bed, she walked towards the window. The grey clouds welcomed her as she took in the outside view. The clouds were dancing in the sky, the breeze was a bit stormy yet calming. The windchime shook again, this time making a loud sweet sound. Saanvi's smile brightened as she touched the wooden chimes. It was a new day and a bright one indeed.Inauguration of Khanna Event Management Firm. She was beyond happy. She was feeling a bit uneasy in her tummy, which isn't new at all. She always feels this way whenever she is anxious or over excited. The mixture of anxiety and excitement doesn't set well with her.Looking at the clock, she palmed her face and started taking out her clothes from the wardrobe. She wasn't late but wanted to be there on time.Changing into a cream shirt with high waisted jeans, she looked up at herself in the mirror. She tied h
"Enjoying yourself?" He asked tugging his hands inside the pocket. His muscles flexed in the process."Yes, Sir. This firm is...it's really exquisite" Saanvi replied, she wanted to see the whole building but no one went to upper floors yet. Not even Arjun, so how could she?"Wanna see more?" Arjun's question suprised her but the anticipation was killing her so she nodded quickly."Let's go" Arjun mumbled gesturing with his hand for her to walk firstly.Saanvi fidgeted with her fingers as the situation got a bit awkward. They both were inside the lift and the silence was making things awkward. The soft music was playing inside the lift calming the atmosphere a bit. Arjun glanced at her and a smirk appeared on his lips. She was looking nervous like a kitten. Her fingers were entangled and she was continuously biting her lips, tempting him to do the honour. He tapped his foot impatiently and clenched his fist to control the emotions. He could feel the growing bulge inside his pant. How b
Saanvi wiped her palms on her jeans as the familiar feeling of anxiety engulfed her. It was the first day of her work and she couldn't be more happier about this. But obviously the anticipation was killing her. Taking a deep breath she came outside the cab. Her scooty got some damages again so she couldn't ride it today. The well made building came in her view as she took shaky steps towards the entrance. The watchman greeted her and didn't ask to show the i.d. as the one did in Arjun's office before. A sense of pride engulfed her and the confidence came back suddenly, throwing all the insecurities out of the window.Straightening her shoulder, she started taking steady steps filled with confidence. The heels were making clicking sounds whenever they were coming in contact with the white tiled floor. She recieved few greetings and smiles on her way to the cabin which increased her confidence.A long sigh escaped her lips as soon she entered inside her cabin. The walls were beautifully
A gush of cold breeze hit her as she shivered folding her hands across her chest. Armaan noticed it but he didn't have a blazer to give her which made him curse himself. They both were walking on the empty road. The weather was pleasant and windy. "I am leaving next week" Armaan broke the silence making Saanvi stop. She looked at him with questioning eyes. Her eyes indeed showed sadness. Sadness of not being able to see her best friend for god knows how long."Oh...so suddenly?" She asked putting a light smile on her face."Yeah. Some urgent work" he stated and they both continued walking as again the silence fell between them.Armaan gazed at Saanvi and at that moment, he wanted nothing more than to just take her in his embrace tightly. His heart was racing wildly while his lips were quivering to utter the words he has kept inside his heart for so long. He wanted to let them out and tell her how exactly he feels about her.But he couldn't gain the courage to do so. The fear of losin
"Send me the venue pics" Saanvi ordered Ritu, her junior and continued typing on her laptop.Their firm has got it's first event and it is an engagement party. Saanvi wants to make it unique and the most memorable one for the guests. She decided to personally arrange every single thing for the party as she found the couple's love story quite unique and inspiring. The groom is a Maharashtrian while the bride is a Bengali. She found this combination deadly yet cute. They both came to the firm to discuss about the event and while sharing their ideas with Saanvi, they narrated their love story as well. They both are from rich households. Their parents hold a reputation in this city and so do they. So, the ceremony will have to be memorable."What about the caterers, Mam?" Ritu asked chewing the cap of her pen."I will send you few numbers. Just check on them if any of them are available next Sunday or not" Saanvi said and dismissed her junior. She was feeling a bit off today. Armaan was g
Author's POVSaanvi was relaxing on her sofa while munching on a big packet of chips. It was Sunday which means holiday."Saanvi, the volume is too loud" Namisha scolded her from the kitchen. Saanvi lowered the volume but still it was quite loud to her mother's liking. Namisha would have given an earful to her daughter but didn't as Saanvi was home at this time of the day after a long time. She doesn't get to watch t.v. usually so Namisha decided to let it be and continued making the dough. Saanvi was watching the show when suddenly a thought struck on her mind making her bit her tongue. She quickly lifted her phone from the table a typed a reply to Arjun. She saw the message early in the morning and decided to reply after taking a bath and now she almost forgot.Switching off the t.v. Saanvi made her way towards the room and came back again after few minutes carrying her laptop in one hand and the box of her reading glasses on the other hand."What happened now?" Namisha asked anno
