Chapter 3 Give Me Back My Daughter

Violet had an idea and brightened. She turned around smilingly and went back to her house.

When she returned to Carl's villa, she was dressed as a man. She looked very handsome with her short hair and casual outfit.

At the door, she was stopped by a bodyguard. "What is your name?"

"Vincent Cooper."

"Identity card."

Violet took out her wallet and handed an identity card to the bodyguard. She was already used to making fake identity cards.

The bodyguard wrote down Violet's fake name on the registration book. Then, he said to her, "Go on in. Good luck."

Violet smiled at him, then went into the villa.

"If you can defeat all of these people, you're hired," another bodyguard said. He was the examiner.

Violet nodded and looked toward the crowd of people fighting each other on the other side of the room. They were all men. Some of them were already unconscious on the ground.

So, it was an all-out brawl, wasn't it?

Violet smiled. Keeping her head high, she walked toward the throng confidently.

"Ha! A shrimp like you is here to apply for the bodyguard's position?" a bulky man said to her disdainfully. He currently had the upper hand in the fight.

It was true. Every man here was tall and bulky. Some of their biceps were twice the size of Violet's fists.

"You." Violet pointed at the large man who had taunted her. "Ten seconds."

Ten seconds later, Violet slammed the man into the ground so hard that he couldn't even get up. No one could process what just happened.

"You." Again, Violet pointed at the closest man to her. "Five seconds."

Violet went through the applicants quickly. She didn't dare to delay much as she wanted to find Whitney as quickly as possible.

She was worried that if she was too late, Whitney might die at the hands of Carl.

Less than ten minutes later, only about ten men were left standing. None of them dared to approach Violet.

She raised an eyebrow. "Are you continuing the fight, or are you going to get lost?"

Everyone left immediately. Even the ones on the ground were quickly cleared out by the bodyguards.

"Nice moves, bro." Reed Tomlinson, one of Carl's personal bodyguards, had witnessed the entire process. He figured that he wouldn't be able to win in a fight against Violet either.

"Am I hired?" Violet asked.

"Follow me." Reed led her into the house.

The house felt cold. Violet felt as if she was walking into hell.

"As a bodyguard, you have to be smart as well as strong," Reed said impassionately. "We have a few questions here to test your intelligence. You need to have an IQ of 120 and above to qualify."

He gave Violet a calculative look. She didn't look stressed at all. Her eyes were calm, not giving away any of her emotions.

Reed felt as if he could almost see Carl in "Vincent." They were both calm and steady, and that made people respect them instinctively.

Without another word, Violet sat down and began answering the questions.

An IQ test?

Violet was confident in this. She had been chosen by Noyva at the age of 12 and became one of the best assassins in the Novya Guild within a year, and not just because of her ability to fight.

When the test results came out, Reed gave Violet another look. He felt that Carl would definitely like her.

The villa was huge. It was almost a small town in itself, complete with entertainment facilities. Violet had to take a buggy for another ten minutes before she arrived at Carl's room.

Reed pressed on a doorbell. "The new bodyguard is here."

The door opened. About ten maids in green and white uniforms were lined up by the door. All of them were pretty.

Violet couldn't help but think, "Looks like Carl has all the pretty ladies in his house."

"Come with me," Reed said softly.

As Violet followed behind him, she looked around for any sign of Whitney.

"When is Carl going to be done with work? He promised me he would take me to see a movie today." Soon, she heard Whitney's voice coming from one of the rooms.

Violet wanted nothing better than to rush into the room and grab her daughter, but she was in the middle of enemy territory right now. Any rash movement would give her away.

She needed to restrain herself.

That being said, Whitney didn't sound like she had even thought about her mother.

The door to the study swung open, letting out a rush of cold air. Violet snapped back into attention and prepared to meet the legendary Carl Walker.
