Chapter 9: Enslaved

"I'll keep this thing. You don't need to ask about that girl anymore, Max. You've caused a lot of trouble for many people; you know that?" Mirielle grumbled, knowing that her brother had come back to see her confirm some metal-like pieces that were slightly unusual in color.

Mirielle could have found out about the object or even about Ivory. But she didn't. It wasn't that easy.

She already knew what had happened to Max, which made her keep looking for the girl. And Mirielle was sure that if she helped Max, he would end up causing trouble again.

"Why do you have such a heart for your sister, Elle?! I know you must already know where Ivory is."

Mirielle turned her body around and fixed her gaze on the kiwi-colored bead of the man before her, then continued to look at him without being distracted. That was Mirielle's intention, to intimidate Max into coming clean about what he had done to the girl.

"I-I was following what grandmother Ange said. The silver-haired girl, Ivory, is the one.
