“He didn’t say. Just said I needed to come into his office for more test.” I tell Hunter as I sat up and pulled one of my pillows to my chest holding it like a lifeline.

Hunter remained silent and I know what was haunting his thoughts. He knew there was a possibility these pups that are growing inside of me might not be his. I broke the silence, “Anyway we can keep this between us for now?”

Hunter finally looked at me and I see the sorrow that filled his eyes. “Yeah, I think that might be best.”
