Heartbroken

Christiana bid her grandmother good bye and headed straight to the sitting room where she left her father and grandfather.

"Where could they be?" Whatever anger she felt towards her father earlier on has now subsided and she felt she needed to apologize.

She used the stairs, she was going to her grandfather's library.

Getting very close to the library door she started hearing their voice even though what they were saying was incoherent to her.

She got to the library and wanted to open the door "Father I'm going to tell her. I just need more time" that was her father's voice

"I know you would, but do that very soon"

"I'm surprised the poor girl doesn't even know her mother is dead" she felt she was pierced in the heart by that word.

"I wonder the excuse you've been giving to her over these years"

"Don't make her think her mother is a bad person or maybe her mother divorced you or something like that since you never talk about her" that came as an advice

"Everything is still fresh in my memory as if it happened just yesterday"

"I still can't get over everything" Marcus sighed heavily

"Tiana is the only good thing I have left from my past, I don't want her going through that pain thinking her mother died because she gave to her when there's more to what happened" he was at the brisk of tears

"I hit her with my car dad"

"I was the one behind the starring that day and....."

The way Christiana burst in interrupted the discussion they were having.

"I should have knew all along" she was in tears as she spoke

"You couldn't tell me what happened because you were the one that killed her"

"Christiana, that wasn't what happened entirely" her grandfather was defending his son

Marcus just stared at Tiana.

He knew he would have to tell her what happened some day but he wasn't expecting her to find out about somethings this way.

He could literally feel the pain as his heart broke.

"You killed her" she slumped in tears.

The way she fell Marcus thought something else has happened to her.

"Christiana" he ran towards her.

"Don't touch me"

"Tiana, there's a lot more you don't know about" he squatted so he could meet her eyes

"I don't think I need to know more"

"I don't want you carrying that misconceptions about me Tiana" he thought of his daughter thinking of him as a murderer scared him.

Marcus father watched as everything unfolded. He wished Marcus has listened when he told him to tell her about it.

"Let's go home and talk about this Christiana"

"I'm not going anywhere with you"

"Don't be like that, I'm willing to tell you everything now" he paused "Let's just go home"

"No" she stood up and stormed out of there.

"Christiana" he couldn't bear the thought of losing his daughter.

He fell to the floor "I'm going to lose everything"

He felt a hand on his shoulder " it isn't too late to kshe everything right Marcus"

"You think I can do it?" He looked up to his father like a child who needed every support he could get.

"I know you can, this is your last chance with her, make things right this time around"

Those words was all he needed at that time, he stood up and left the room in search of Tiana.

"Did Christiana leave this building?" he questioned John who was sitting outside his room.

"Yes sir"

"I was trying to question her and stop her from leaving but she didn't listen to me sir" John added

"Open the gate" he ordered and rushed to where he parked the car.

Few minutes later, he was already outside with the hope that he would be able to get hold of Christiana before she go too far.

"Where could she have gone to" he wondered.

It's been minutes since the has been driving and there has been no glimpse of her.

"What the hell have I done?"

"I should have just listened to father and Jess when they were advising me"

"I was only thinking about how I was feeling"

"I was inconsiderate of my daughters feeling" he kept blaming himself as he drove home.

"Is Tiana at home?" He asked his gate man as he drove in.

"No sir"

"Are you very sure?"

"Yes sir, I've been here since you left the house with get earlier"

He didn't give a response to that, he just drove in and parked his car.

"I've been trying to reach this girl for almost 30 minutes now"

"Where could she be" it was so evident in his voice that he was worried.

He continued calling her maybe she would pick up and tell him where she is but there was no sign that's going to happen anytime soon .

"Hello"

"Good evening sir" Vee greeted.

He decided to call Vee since Tiana has been unreachable.

"Good evening"

"Is Tiana with you?" It was obvious that he was impatient.

"No sir, she left my house in the afternoon and we've not been in touch since then"

He sighed heavily.

"Is everything okay sir?"

"She told me she was going to your place"

"There's no need to be bothered Vee, if you get her over the phone just do well to call me"

"No problem sir" she hanged up.

He moved towards the window "where could you be Tiana?"

"It's late already."
