Chapter 1

KkMy lips parted as I stared at the moon. I can feel my eyes twinkling too while being amaze about it's beauty.

Looking at it lessen the pain inside of me. It feels like I am just fine, it feels like everything is okay and I don't have problems to think everyday.

I swallowed the lump on my throat as I decided to enter the house already.

It is cold and it is also making me numb for a while. I love how it feels because even just in a second, I feel like I am free for not being able to feel the painful reality.

I am now tired of promises. I am now tired about how my life goes everyday. I am tired about everything.

I heaved a sigh and grabbed my bag in the couch.

"Be early tomorrow, don't be late again at school." Said Alex, my twenty eight year old brother.

Alex is the one who is taking care of me since our parents left us. I know it is hard for him that is why I am also doing my best to finish my study. I wanted to help him one day. I wanted him to rest and be at ease too.

"Yeah." I answered before going upstairs.

In the next day just like what Alex said I decided to wake up early.

I don't want to be late at school, as an introvert, I don't want to be the center of attraction just because the teacher is being mad at me.

The people in America is just so liberated and I can really see that Alex is also having a hard time coping up with his work mates. I can see them having new cars going at work and that's his dream.

"Aren't you ashamed that I am using an old pick up while bringing you at school, Telly?" He ask while chuckling but I know there is something on his words. He is just trying to put his insecurities into a joke.

"Why would I? My classmate's parents bring them here at school using their SUV, van, expensive cars but still can't answer in our oral recitation." I uttered coldly so that he won't worry again next time that he will going to fetch me.

Alex laughed hardly because of what I said. I can't find any humor about it, it's true. My classmates are bossy, arrogant and materialistic. They are so lucky but still not doing good on their studies. They are more pathetic for not thinking about their future.

I wave my hand while watching Alex drive. He is too precious for me. I love my brother so much even if I am not that sweet to him. I know he is having a hard time but he managed not to tell me about it so that I won't worry.

I continued walking inside the school without looking at anyone.

It was already cold in America, I just hate snow and cold season. Usually Alex get tired easily whenever it's cold. I hope he will drink coffee later or something.

As a grade twelve student I am happy that I will be a college student next year. After that I will have a chance to have a part time job in the summer.

I smiled about the idea of helping Alex. But my smiles immediately faded when someone tried to throw a trash bin in my head.

I can feel the dust in my shoulder. Luckily I am wearing a bonet that protected my hair from those dirt coming from the bin.

I immediately took the bin out of my head. I am used about this but I didn't think that it will be early for this day.

The bullies is really getting into my nerves. Aren't they tired for being like that in the age of seventeen? Eighteen? How pathetic.

They are thinking that it was fun and I am the one who is pitiful here, stupid!

I rolled my eyes and continued walking. I hope some teachers saw them and ask them to clean it, those idiots!

"You are really weak, aren't you?"

I stop from walking when I heard someone talking behind me.

I glance at the guy who is following me. His hands are on his pocket while smirking.

My brows furrowed while staring at him. Matt Stevans, one of the most well known student in the University. He is my classmate and of course even if I am the most quite student in the class there is no way for me to not hear the humors about him.

He is as handsome as hell, they said. But for me he is just one of those normal and annoying students who is not giving importance for their studies.

I raised my brows on him before turning my back but I didn't expect him to follow me until in the classroom's hallway.

"Why are you letting those bullies hurt you? Are you scared about them?" He ask again but it feels like opening my mouth just to explain to him will just going to make me so tired.

"You are." He laughed as I slowly turned to him.

"I don't have time for stupid people." I uttered coldly.

He didn't speak again when I said that but I can still feel his gazes to me.

Even before he is always like this. He keeps trying to have nonsense conversation with me but I don't have time for those things.

"You are really weird, it makes me wanted to know you more." He whispered while watching me stared somewhere. His voice is too low but I can still heard it.

We are both leaning on the wall waiting for our advicer to open the room.

I am about to lift my gaze to Matt when I heard some noises coming from the hallway. Our other classmates are coming too with our advicer behind them.

I think Matt Stevans is just curious about me, I hope he will stop bothering my tranquility.
