Chapter 9

Until the afternoon, Marvin was still at the Winston Family residence. Because he had not seen each other for a long time, he expressed his happiness with his wife and Axel. Not only that, Marvin's real intention was to wait for Russell and Raymond to arrive.

Around five o'clock, then Russell came home. His multi-million dollar Ford enters the villa's courtyard, deliberately moving away from Marvin's old Audi. "That bastard's car, he should have parked outside the gate," he sneered.

Happiness and worry mixed on Russel's face. Happy because for the next month Winsoil will be safe from the crisis, and worried about who has told The Oxy to send that much crude oil, even though Winsoil has never made an offer.

Arriving at this very magnificent living room, Russel snorted in annoyance when he saw Marvin, and said, "You shouldn't be in this room! And you better just go home! We do not accept ex-convicts!”

Gennifer didn't accept it. "What are you doing, Russell?! Marvin is my legal husband. He has every right to be in this room.”

Likewise Axel. "He's my brother-in-law, sis. We have never questioned his status, after all, it has no effect on us."

Russell watched his two brothers with a stern look. “I don't want to have a terrorist brother-in-law. Be careful, he will bring a bomb here later,” he said with a bitter smile.

Marvin smoothed his black shirt and said, “You should be happy now, Russel. Hasn't a billion dollars' worth of crude oil arrived at the Winsoil refinery? So, I hope your friend Raymond gets here quickly. We can't wait to see him lick the soles of my shoes."

"You! How rude of a Harvard Boy!” Russell grinned angrily. His blood was boiling. His hands were pointing.

Not wanting to be pointed out, Marvin looked away and said, “Have I slandered him? Did I make some ridiculous accusations that put him in jail?” said Marvin. There was no fear in him.

Russell is annoyed. He gritted his teeth while clenching his fists, but it was just a bluff, he hadn't dared to fight with Marvin in the past, whether because he was afraid, I don't know.

Even though Marvin's threat was indeed very risky because he was already a bit impolite with the crown prince of the Harvard Family, he didn't care, after all, in the next few months, the Rock Family's wealth would be far above the Harvard Family.

Feeling annoyed, Russel also contacted Raymond and immediately sent him to the house. Fifteen minutes later Raymond's red Porsche arrived, this time carrying a ring he was planning to give to Gennifer.

He placed the red box on the living room table and said, "Gennifer, special for you." Then Raymond smiled happily.

Marvin got up and grabbed the box. He opened it and commented, “Oh my! Mixed silver and white gold. This ring is original, but cheap!” exclaimed Marvin, smiling lightly. "Dear Harvard Boy, don't you have any shame in giving a gift of this change to a woman as beautiful as Gennifer?"

Everyone was stunned to hear that.

Cheap? Small change?

Roderick and Elena, who were resting, came down because of the commotion below. "What are you all fussing about?" howled Roderick, furrowing his brows.

Marvin immediately took over the stage. He's not the type of weak man who is often silent and succumbs. Right now, it was obvious he was angry and jealous, but fighting was only for kids, so let him repay the Harvard Son's abomination in an elegant manner.

The red box was lifted by Marvin to make it more visible to Roderick. “Father-in-law, take a look, this strange man gave my wife a cheap present. I was so angry watching it. This is an insult to me and to the Winston Family!”

Hearing that, Raymond was furious, not accepting that his precious gift was considered cheap. “Hey you ex-con! Do you know the price is ten thousand dollars? That kind of money can feed someone like you for five years!” he cursed emotionally.

Elena snatched it. She saw it in great detail. "Wow! This ring is very beautiful and expensive. Marvin, are you crazy to say this is cheap and spare ha?!”

Roderick was curious. He stared at it for a while, then commented, “There are only fifty of these rings in Chemisland. Marvin, have you forgotten that your dowry for Gennifer is no more than a thousand dollars?”

Currently, all eyes were on Marvin. Gennifer, who had been happy to ask for forgiveness this morning, was suddenly made anxious again by all of Marvin's words.

Gennifer also realized that her husband's words were indeed too much. So far, only Marvin had dared to speak like that in front of the Harvard Family. She always believed in her husband, but her worries could not be removed.

Axel was shocked. All this time, he had known that Marvin was a man who was clever and brave, but now, he saw something different about Marvin.

The reason is revenge. Marvin really has a grudge against Raymond, even though currently Raymond is still far above him, but not in the future. Therefore, Marvin's courage was greatly pumped up.

Gennifer looked worriedly and said softly, “Honey, if you don't like it, just put the ring down. I will never accept it either. Stop talking!” The worry was clear on Gennifer's face.

Raymond sat next to Russel, then said loudly, “Wow! Do you think that after you get out of prison, you can talk whatever you want, Marvin Rock?!" Raymond raised his leg like a boss while giving Marvin a sharp gaze. “Take it back, or your mouth will tear!”

Marvin didn't flinch in the slightest. Even though he was threatened, his shoulders did not waver. He replied coldly, “Keep that ring that you say is expensive and beautiful! Compared to the Gloriest Flower I gave, that means I've given as many as fifty rings like that!” Then he sat back down next to Gennifer.

Not wanting to be outdone, Raymond stood up and took the flower that was next to Gennifer. “This flower is fake!” he shouted with a crooked smile.

Marvin turned his gaze to his mother-in-law. “Ma'am, you really understand the issue of flowers. You've seen it before. Are those flowers real?”

Elena looked away and answered coldly, “The flowers are real. But we all don't believe that you gave it to us!" Elena snapped.

Russel was the person who most agreed that the Gloriest Flower worth five hundred thousand dollars was not a gift from Marvin.

Based on Russel's words, both parents agreed that someone must have sent the wrong message.

There was a faint smile from Marvin to Raymond. “You can't tell the difference between real and fake Gloriest Flowers, Harvard Boy? So pathetic!" sneered Marvin, getting more emotional.

This was the first time Raymond was really embarrassed, and what was even more embarrassing was that he was humiliated by a man he considered embarrassing. What a shame!
