The close contact between Isa and myself at that very moment forced a moment of tension in the room. She was small in my arms, and her eyes were too tempting not to stare into them.
While cooking Tony could hear the voice of the family members, welcoming the guests.
"Wow. I'm so happy you're finally here Kenneth." The voice of Ava was heard.
'Kenneth?' Tony was puzzled, the Kenneth he knew was Ava's childhood friend, the last time Kenneth visited was almost a year ago and that didn't end up well. Kenneth is envious of Tony for having a beautiful woman like Ava all to himself.
"What's delaying the food!" Helen yelled from the dinning. It immediately pissed Tony off. "If it was that easy, why can't you make breakfast yourself?" He said under his breath. "Coming!" He then replied.
Hurriedly he arranged the food in a tray and went to serve on the dining table. His eyes immediately met with Kenneth, and Lilian, Kenneth's younger sister.
"Please hurry up, serve our guests first." Helen instructed.
"Alright, mother " He replied, first he served Lilian some portions of rice and fried meat. "Thank you." She said kindly, then he moved over to Kenneth's.
Immediately he put the rice on Kenneth's plate, Kenneth sparked. "You idiot, couldn't you at least ask me what I want to eat first? I don't want rice!" He insulted.
Tony frowned, he could tolerate the insults from his in-laws, but definitely not for this arrogant man. "You watch your tongue! And I'm not an idiot, if you want something else you get it yourself!" Tony lashed back at him.
Helen boiled in anger.
She landed a hot slap on Tony's face. "How dare you talk back to Kenneth, do you know who he is?" She barked.
Tony clenched his fist, subduing his anger. "I'm...I'm sorry ma," he apologized.
"I don't want your useless apology. Now apologize to Kenneth!" She instructed.
"What?" Tony gasped. Why would I apologize for doing nothing wrong?"
"Yes, you heard me right. Apologies to Kenneth. Or else you won't be getting any meal from this house henceforth." She declared.
"Look around, check out everyone here!" Ava came into the conflict. "So you see any low guy or girl here. Then assess my mom, does she look like your mate that you can't do what she asked you?" Tony couldn't believe his own wife was saying this to him.
He shook his head in regret and disgust.
She carefully observed him for a while, holding her chin. "Do you know what you look like?" Ava asked, voice full of sarcasm but Tony was eager to hear what would come out from her mouth. "You look like a beast who has always lived in the forest, no civilized attitude at all!"
"You are so proud to apologize to Kenneth when you can't even feed yourself once a day, I'm always feeding you. Kenneth can feed your entire ancestry and community."
At once Tony dropped the tray he was holding in his hand, his eyes darkened as he walked towards Ava on the side of the table where she was sitting. The other relatives stood up in a bit to protect Ava as they suspected Tony was gonna hit her.
"I can take whatever shit you have to say to me but never talk about my family and ancestry. They are way above your reach." He said bluntly, looking all angry and serious.
"You can't call yourself rich, not even Kenneth if you want to compete with my family's assets!" This was the truth which rendered Ava, her mom and the rest on the table speechless, they knew who Tony was before now.
Ava couldn't let herself be defeated by a low guy as she saw Tony. "You still claim where you do not belong?" Ava smirked. "Because your granddad knew how useless you were that he would prefer a homeless man to run his estates than you." She shrugged her shoulders, feeling satisfied.
Later into the ceremony where Tony came out, he got so bothered and couldn't keep this question to himself again.
"Who's–I mean what's Kenneth doing here?" He asked. Ava raised her eyes with dreaded scorn to look at him, up to down and then blinking her eyes. Her mom felt like killing Tony.
"Why would you choose to disgrace me before everyone here?" Helen scolded.
"You know what, Kenneth has decided to come meet my family over his feelings for me and his plan of marrying me," she twitched her head in style.
"I've always told you I'll leave you one day, you never seemed to believe me." She smirked.
Frustration hovered over Tony. His eyes went from Ava to Kenneth and from Kenneth back to Ava, then finally on Helen, Ava's mother.
"So you both have been keeping this relationship for a long time?" He asked.
"Hm-mm," Ava accepted with a nod of her head, raising the glass of wine to sip through it.
Tony was still expecting more from Ava, he wasn't satisfied with this which looked more of a dream to him.
"You know what? I'm done with you!" Ava finally said to Tony, motioning for him to disappear from her sight.
Tony shivered, it was as though electricity shocked him to his bones.
"What did you say?"
"Are you deaf? I said I'm done with a poor, stinking fool like you. Get out of my sight, you look so disgusting."
“You can't dent my personality, it's a great shame if I am seen walking with a wretched bastard like you."
"I was waiting for this chance where I'll say it all out, here it is. Goodbye!" Reaching out, she grabbed the wine glass on the table and sipped from it. Tony waited for a while, not being able to understand what was going before he walked into the inner room.
Several relatives at the table began to boo him out while Helen was planning more evil thoughts.
Kenneth, who had come to officially introduce himself as Ava's fiancee, was the heir of Gold Corporation who had just hated Tony so well. He returned recently from overseas where he just completed his studies with his sister, Lilian.
With his two eyes, Tony watched as the love of his life, his most cherished girl was drifting off to another guy, walking out of his life. At this moment, it was as if he lost everything in the world because Ava is all that mattered to him, she was all he got.
He went to the courtyard of the mansion and leaned against one of the pillars thinking about his life. When he heard the clicks of the camera, he immediately raised his head.
He let out a gasp as he saw his grandfather walking towards the estate from the courtyard entrance. This felt like a dream to him.
"What are you doing here, pa?"
"Dad??" Tony couldn't believe his eyes.
Io him.
"What are you doing here, pa?"
"Dad??" Tony couldn't believe his eyes.
I felt her hands at the back of my hair, playing with the strands, while her eyes were still fixated on mine. I knew she was giving me the hint, and I couldn't resist any longer. I crashed my lips into hers willingly, and her response gave me an edge as I savored the taste of her lips.
I couldn't control it. I soon began to undress her while my lip locked her to the bed. The way she moaned was such a giveaway that she could barely wait. As soon as they were done stripping, I decided to tease her for a while. I started by wrapping my hand around her throat while I began to suck on her nipples. Her back arched as she moaned seductively, unable to withstand the heat that was pooling between her thighs. Her moans increased as I even took it further, wanting to take my time until she begged for it.
As I proceeded to my next phase, my brain instantly snapped, and I pulled away, causing Isadora to look at me awkwardly.
"What happened?" she asked.
I knew I shouldn't be doing this to her. She was just twenty years old, and although she was legally my wife, I still didn't find the excitement with her just yet. I hated the fact that Josephine had corrupted my system.
Getting up from the couch, I adjusted my belt and my tuxedo, while Isadora still stared down at me in confusion.
"I am heading out." I managed to say that and turned around to leave.
"I hope you know I won't be a virgin forever." I paused and turned around to look at her. It was obvious she was angry, and I knew she had every moral justification to be that angry, but I didn't want any of it yet.

The next day being a work day, I had gathered all my documents into my briefcase and was ready to leave the room when I bumped into Isadora, all dressed up in a fine linen dark gown. She was literally a goddess in that dress.
"Where are you going?" I asked, still stuck up in her beauty.
"I'm following you to work." She said it with a smile on her face.
"You must be kidding, right?" I asked, clearly finding it ridiculous. "You do know the workplace isn't a place for you."
"Ouch." She pretended to be hurt by my statement. "I am your wife, and I clearly have an understanding of this business as well. I can help with sorting out documents, managing time, and other stuff you may need someone for."
The way she blinked her eyes repetitively had me groaning in frustration. How can she be this hot and not even know it?
"Still, my answer remains the same: no." I finalized and walked past her, headed for the car outside.
When I arrived outside, Theodore was already seated in the back seat of the car, waiting for me.
"What are you trying to do?" I asked, seeing as she was about to step into the back seat.
"I told you I was going to work with you." At this point, she was getting on my nerves, and I didn't like it.
"And I said, No damn it! I have already told you to stay back. My workplace isn't somewhere you would want to be around." I hated that I needed to yell at her, but it didn't seem to shake her one bit.
Stepping into the car, Isadora was also in the car. The look on Theodore's face should have explained to her how much I hated being disobeyed.
"Look, I just want to have something to do. I don't want to be very bored." She stated, but I didn't care; I just didn't want her around my workplace.
"If you don't get out of my car, I will." "What would you do?" She asked her eyes, daring me to say something that would piss her off.
"Very well then. I want you to understand, however, that I wouldn't need any disturbance while we are at work. Get it?" I asked, and she reverted back to being the cheerful girl she had been.
While I turned on the ignition, I looked at the mirror behind me, and the look on Theodore's face was hilarious. Only he understands that no one has ever made me quit or change my mind over a particular matter, and this makes Isadora the first person.
When we arrived at the company, all eyes were fixated on Isadora, who grabbed my arms as I moved briskly to my office.
"Why are they all staring at me that way?" She asked, but I refused to answer the obvious, even though I was irritated as well.
"Good afternoon, boss. We have a guest awaiting you at the office." The look from my personal assistant made me understand what he meant.
I looked back at Isadora and realized she was still anxious about the stare some of the men in the office gave her. I noticed one of the workers, especially, licking his lips while winking at her.
The audacity!
"I will be there in a minute." I replied, giving him my briefcase, while dragging Isadora towards the man's booth, where he worked.
"Clearly, you don't have what I consider courtesy by staring at my wife in that ridiculous manner." I started, and he became fearful of my appearance. "If I ever catch you staring at her again, I will rip your eyes out!" I threatened.
"Yes boss!" He replied, still shaken by my presence.
"And that applies to all of you!" I yelled out, and the once rowdy environment became quiet at the sound of my voice. As I held onto Isadora while we located the elevator, I couldn't get this feeling off my chest that Isadora was smiling happily at my display of power.

Jude POV After the whole altercation at the secret room, I had to adjust my suit and make sure that Isadora didn't suspect anything. I didn't want her to see this nasty side of me, it would most likely break her down.. Stepping out of the secret room, I noticed she was concentrating on her phone till I called her name and she looked up in my direction, with a smile on her face. "You took hours there." She said, as some of the other boys stepped out of the room as well. "Just had business to deal with." I replied. "Also I noticed someone was screaming in there. What was that?" For a moment I stared at her trying to hold it together. "You most likely heard from the wrong room. I mean look around, there are several rooms in this company. Now let's head to my office." I extended my arms and she took it and we both walked through the hallway, till we arrived at my office. The moment the door opened, a much familiar face was seated by the couch with a huge pack of cigar on the table
Isa POVThe night was beyond cold and the raging storm forced me to stay awake. As I tried to seek shelter in the duvet, I was reminded of everything that happened earlier today. I was slowly beginning to wonder if Jude was actually the sort of man I knew. Many had said he was dangerous, but from his encounter with that strange pervert at his office, I couldn't help but wonder if he wasn't even the devil himself. A huge lightning bolt shook the foundation of the house and I knew I couldn't sleep alone. I needed to stay beside someone and who else would be fitting to stay with, other than Jude.I grabbed the sheets of my bed and made my way through the hall towards his room. I hoped he hadn't closed the door. Alas! I was right, the door was rightly opened and I stepped inside. He was sleeping with socks on, a habit I found completely absurd. I silently made my way to his bed and snuck into his arm and he seemed to find comfort in it. He was particularly warm and I loved how calm his b
Jude POVI had not shared the bed with several of the girls I had brought at night since I disliked making physical contact with people at night. Not that she ever would have imagined wanting to be near me at night. Unless there was something she wanted from me, she never bothered to hide her unwillingness to have me near her, especially when we slept together.I refused Isadora's request to be close to me.Her bloated face was lit by the early morning light. Dried tears from her lashes adhered to her flesh. She had gotten closer while we slept, to the point where we were practically touching. I couldn't help but want to touch her, but not in a sexual sense.Leaning on my elbow, I saw her contented slumber. I experienced nightmares about Josephine's blood-covered body, just like I did many other evenings. Even though I rarely dreamed about the people I had slain, I still spend a lot of nights thinking about them.Isadora gave a slight moan and moved her lips. I turned to face her as
JUDE POVHurt flashed across her face. "It's quite annoying knowing that you can be a bully for most of the time."I knew she was trying to get a response from me, but I did give a single reply."I wonder what Josephine thinks" I froze in that moment and turned around to look her eyes widened as she snapped her lips shut.A knock came at the same moment that rage shot through me. I was relieved to have Isadora farther away from me as I made my way towards the door after swallowing my rage. I felt the pounding of my heart in my temples as I tore open the door. When River saw me, her smile vanished. Her gaze strayed to an object behind me. "Is everything alright?" she muttered.I flung open the door. River was followed by both Isadora's cousins and Isadora's mother, and other ladies as they anticipated the ritualistic retrieval of the linens. Enter. Take hold of the sheets. I don't have the entire morning.Ilaria, one of Isadora's cousins murmured, "Rude as usual," as she passed me. Ri
Jude was plainly uncomfortable displaying any emotion in public. He soon left me to the whims of my inquisitive mother and spoke with Romeo and other Underbosses. I eventually got over her and my aunts and went to hide in a lavatory stall.Twenty minutes later, River found me here. "It's quite overwhelming, isn't it?" she asked once I had changed my makeup and came out."That is.""Are you alright? If you're not, you can let me know. Though Jude is my brother, my priority is as a woman.I nodded, recalling Jude's remarks and his hesitation to share our personal life with others."Thank you, but I'm okay."She smiled a little. "Refrain from letting him transform you into someone you're not. There are girls like you in our world.”Unlike her brother, she didn't mind when I gave her a quick embrace and returned the favor. Although I was happy to have her support, I had to figure out where I fit into Jude's life on my own. Anything less would not sit well with him. When we eventually arri
“Are you trying to influence me with your body?”My eyes grew wide. “No. I could smell the liquor on your breath, and I was curious how it tastes.”Jude chuckled. “You are a strange girl.” His mouth twisted. “Woman.” He looked down at the dog in my arms. It was snuggled against me peacefully. Without a word, Jude turned around and returned to his glass of whisky on the table. I stepped inside and closed the door. Stroking the dog, I followed my husband.“What’s its name?”“Loulou,” Jude said, a strange note to his voice. I stopped beside him. “Can I have a sip of your whisky?”Jude’s eyes bored into me. “You’ve never had whisky before?”“No. My father didn’t allow me to drink alcohol. I had my first glass at our wedding.”“Many firsts for one day.” A small shiver passed down my spine at the contemplative growl. “You aren’t old enough for hard liquor.”My lips parted in indignation. Was he serious? He downed the remains of his drink, and before I could say something snarky, he cupped t
Jude POVAnnoyance hummed under my skin. Isadora peered up at me calmly, thinking she knew everything. It was the advantage of youth—believing you knew how the world ran and convinced you could shape it to your ideals. She’d soon realize that ideals were just teenage foolishness.“Come now,” I gritted out, not wanting to release the frustration of the last few months on her. Ultimately, it was my fault for allowing this marriage, for thinking an eighteen-year-old girl could be a wife and mother. The idea that Isadora could become Josephine 2.0 turned my stomach over.Isadora opened her mouth as if to say more, but I sent her a warning look. She’d need to learn when to shut up. She pursed her lips but remained quiet.I led her to Daniele’s room first. I opened the door but didn’t turn the lights on. Daniele’s bed was empty.“Where is he?” Isadora whispered, worried, as she crossed the room toward the bed.My heart clenched. Turning on my heel, I walked out and strode down the corridor.
