Alexander
The next day
As I sat in the booked car, driving me away from the airport, questions upon questions lingered on my mind.
Questions upon questions lingered longer. Will I ever find her? Would she ever want to have anything to do with me? Would she even want to believe that I've really changed?
I was ready to do anything just for her to accept me back. Maybe she was my guardian angel after all and I just might have lost her forever. The time read 2pm on my wristwatch, going to the hotel would leave me jobless. I rolled the window down and marveled at the beauty of Carlton, it has really been a long time since I stayed away.
My conscience kept poking me but I decided to not pay attention to it.
"Take me somewhere nice," I said to the driver. "I don't want to go to the hotel yet."
"Yes sir," he said, changing the route he was taking.
My attention was diverted to my phone, an unknown number was calling. I picked up at the second ring, curious on who it could be. "Yes, who is this?"
"My name is Cindy, I want to believe I'm speaking with the billionaire, Alexander Pierce."
"Yes you are, how may I help you?"
"I was sent to warm your bed tonight, it could be for a night. It could be forever, it depends on whatever you want," she said seductively. "And I'll need you to send a detailed description of your location to me and perhaps send a driver to pick me up. I'm a lady that doesn't like to be kept waiting."
For a moment, I was proud of Nancy, just like the kind of ladies I liked but then a part of me felt greatly insulted. A lady talking to me like she owned me.
"Miss Cindy, I believe I have the right to do whatever I want and however I want it and you are in no position to tell me that. I will communicate with you soon enough, if you will excuse me," I dropped the call and rang Nancy immediately.
"How many times have I told you not to give my main cell line to strangers?"
"I'm so sorry Sir Alex, it must have skipped my mind."
"Beg your God that she doesn't mess up tonight or else you suffer the consequences."
After a while, the car halted and I saw that we had arrived at a park. It was filled with kids and parents, irrespective of it being a work day.
"We are here sir," he said, switching off the engine.
"Are you serious? Is this your definition of somewhere nice? A park, really?"
"Trust me sir, it's a lovely place. My family and I come here every weekend," he said, patronizing the park to me.
"You said you and your family. As you can see, I'm alone and most certainly still in my work clothes."
Tired of arguing with him, I got down and surveyed the environment. I straightened my suit and walked around, I bought a few things and sat under a shade, beside a little boy who munched on his cotton candy.
I ate quietly and emptied the bottle of water in my mouth. Satisfied, I sat a little longer.
"Do you care for some?" The little boy stretched his snack to me.
Grateful for his sharing nature, I smiled, answering in a very polite way.
"No I'm full, thank you so much."
"Are you sure? I can tell my aunt Jane to give me another one," he said.
No I'm really fine, I've had my fill," I showed him the wrap of the things I bought and held my tummy.
After a while of being quiet, his voice came again. "What's your name?" He asked, taking me by surprise where his guts came from.
"My name is Alexander Pierce and what's yours?"
"I'm Aiden and I have 2 siblings. Albert and Aurora. They are over there playing," he stretched his tiny finger to where the other kids were. I could see the splitting image between the trio.
"Oh, you are triplets," I said.
"Yes we are. My mummy always said that after I came out, then Albert came out, she thought that was the last one until the tiny head of Aurora showed."
I couldn't help but laugh at his statement. "Could you call your siblings for me? I want to say hi to them."
"Sure," he ran as fast as his tiny little legs could carry him. As soon as he spoke to his brother, his face went into a frown immediately, almost making me wonder what he must have said to him.
Reluctantly, the 3 of them made their way towards me.
"I'm sorry I had to drag you away from your fun but I just want to meet you. Aiden is a really smart kid and I would love to say hi to the rest of you."
"You told him your name?" Albert charged at his brother and Aiden looked away immediately.
"Fierce Albert, I'm not here to harm you," I said, breaking into a short laugh.
"You told him our names?" Albert faced his brother again who quickly hid behind Aurora.
"It's alright Albert, don't be so dramatic," Aurora cut him off.
She stepped forward. "Hi Mr, my name is Aurora. What's your name?"
"The princess amongst the princes. I'm Alexander Pierce. Nice to meet you," I stretched my hand out for a handshake, engulfing her tiny hands in mine.
The other boy walked forward, grumpily introducing himself. "My name is Albert."
"Oh Albert, the protective one. It's so nice to meet you," I gave a small laugh, moving closer to his ears and whispering. "It's always good to be protective but don't overdo it. I once lost a good woman because of my selfish nature."
He was still a child, I wasn't expecting him to fully understand but the expression in his eyes told me he could connect a bit with what I just said.
"Yes sire," he nodded briefly, releasing the frown on his face into a small smile.
The little drama at that point brought me back to the beginning. I felt complete with the kids around, even knowing that I don't know them anywhere from Adam.
Knowing I took her babies away forcefully, I questioned myself again, more sincerely this time. Was Melissa ever going to let me back in her life?
Thank you so much guys for going on this journey with me😍🙏🏼. By the way the real fun is about to begin, stay with me and support this book in every way you can. It will mean a lot to me, thank you so much 🥺🙏
Alexander I watched the kids as they ran towards the woman who called them. She was dark in complexion, stood at an average height with brown colored hair. Seeing that the kids were safe and under an adult's care, I walked back to the car. I was glad that very few people could recognize me. "Let's go to the hotel, I could use a really good sleep right now." At the mention of the good sleep, it sounded like a joke even to myself. Remembering what I battled with, it seemed like the nightmares were waiting for me to just close my eyes, irrespective of the time and day. I sent the detailed description of where I was staying and what time I'd like Cindy to come. It's been years since I laid with a woman, let's hope that I won't mess things up. Getting to the hotel, I grabbed the room keys from the receptionist and entered the elevator, leading to the vvips suite. The aesthetics in the room were really befitting and inviting. I dropped my suitcase and the little bag I came with on the
Alexander I dressed in a navy blue suit, my silky black hair was combed back. I complimented my dressing with a black shoe, making me look smart and presentable. I fetched my suitcase and arranged my things in it; my phones, jotter, a pen and my cheque book. I was so sure I'd be making a lot of donations there today. My wristwatch made a chime, notifying me of the time. The driver must be down, waiting for me. I checked out of the hotel with my things and dropped the keys at the reception. "Morning sir," the driver approached me with a smile, reaching for my bag and my suitcase. "You know my schedule this morning, right?" "Yes sir, I've been briefed," he responded, bowing slightly. "Good, let's go." The drive to Carlton's College of Art was roughly a 30 minutes drive from the hotel. I saw the driveway filled with cars of prestigious people and students flocking around. Instantly I concluded that it was a big event. The car was ushered into a private packing space. I stepped o
Melissa My heart swelled with joy knowing how rough the past few years have been. Standing in front of thousands at the annual conference was a dream come true for me. Immediately the director gave his little speech and welcomed me to the stage, I was elated. The students made it more resounding when they roared with joy when my name was called. I found my way to the stage in style, swaying my hips gently from one end to the other. My 3 inch heels made pointy noises on the tiled floor. I was clothed in a green tight dress, just stopping below my knees. The past few years, I had become confident of my own figure but past traumas made me steer clear from men. I reclined gently to the length of the microphone, speaking into it. The spotlight was fixed on me and it felt like I was on top of the world. For that moment, I felt free. "Oh wow, thank you so much. I had no idea I was a fan of many," I said, earning approvals and laughs from students in the hall. I gave my acknowledgements
Alexander My mouth wide open agape, my gaze stuck to her back view like a glue, following each and every step she took out. It was hastened, like she despised my presence so much and being around me was poison for her. I was coming back to Melissa's issue, first of all, I needed to deal with this new tick I just found myself. I suddenly seized her by the arm, adding more pressure into my hold on her. "What are you doing here, Cindy?" My words came out between gritted teeths. She winced, her eyes going back and forth, from my hand to my hardened gaze. She tried to free herself from my hold. "You are hurting me," she cried out but I could care less. "I'll do more than that if you do not stay out of my life. You are a hooker, stick to that title of yours and never come after me." My hold relaxed on her suddenly and she sank terribly into one of the seats behind her. I straightened my suit and started to walk out, without waiting to hear another word from her. "I love you Alexand
Melissa It was God's grace that hasn't allowed me to punch the living life out of this man talking to me. Everything about men, trying to woo me pissed me off, I didn't want to hear any endearing word of any kind. I kept forcing out laughter and faked smiles of different kinds so he wouldn't get the impression of me not being interested. His lips curled into a smile and he came forward to touch me. "So what do you say about going out on Friday night?" I shifted uncomfortably, letting out an awkward smile. "I'll think about it and give you feedback, Fred." "My name's Francis, not Fred. This is the second time you are getting it wrong," he said. "I'm sorry," sincerely, I was sorry. I didn't really do well with names. The corner of my right eye happened to catch the sight of a tall dark man walking towards me in gentle strides. His hands were deep rooted in his pocket as he walked graciously towards me. I couldn't give him the impression that I was single. Without a single proces
Alexander I couldn't do anything except watch her walk away with the kids. The trio turned back at intervals, smiling and waving towards my direction as they ran ahead of their mother. Funnily enough, she never told them to stop waving at me, she just looked away, like I meant nothing to her. I have done more harm than good in this woman's life and I wouldn't want to cause more. My tone unconsciously came out rough and hard, I had no idea how it happened. No matter how much she tried to mask it, I could still see it in her eyes, she was scared of me. I wanted to fight for her but I had no idea how. She, herself, wasn't going to make it easy for me. Melissa, hating me, was an understatement. If she had the power to kill me, she would, without giving it so much thought. Giving myself a moment of bliss, I decided to go visit the royalty of Carlton. They were close friends with my parents. I was in their city, it would definitely make a lot of sense to pay homage to them. I turned t
Alexander Her cold wrinkled hands held my hands tightly, without her gaze flinching away from mine. "Is it because of the little bunny?" The Thatchers were the other people I could talk to, they have a very limited knowledge about my nightmares but they knew exactly how I felt. There was no acting like a tough man with Lady Selene and Sir Carlos. I adjusted uncomfortably in my seat, trying to fight back the burning tears from falling. "Talk to me, Alex. Don't bottle it up inside, let it out," she said. I broke down, like a broken dam, waiting to overflood the entire environment. She held me close and rocked me gently, waiting for me to finish up. "I messed up Mimi," I said, sniffing. "I really messed up badly." "It's okay child, what did you do?" "I met a very good woman, a very beautiful one at that. She bears Melissa as well. And all I did to that woman was damage her, emotionally and mentally. I made her remove her babies twice in 6 months because I still believed that I was
Alexander Irritated by the lady who stood at the door without saying a word, I walked to the door myself and slammed the door in her face. Making sure she saw how pissed I was. I'm yet to ask Mimi who that was. A knock caught my attention again. "Arggggggh," I was physically pissed by now. I had thought of the things I'd say to her in my head. "What do you want again?" I said, immediately the door went open. But then I was wrong, Lady Selene looked at me like I had just developed 2 heads. "Sorry Mimi, I had no idea that it was you," I apologized. "Has someone been to this room today?" "Yes, just a few moments ago." "Well, I'm here to tell you that dinner is almost ready and I want us to all eat together," she said, reaching for my cheeks, taking turns with them as she kissed on both sides. I hurried to my bath and by the time I came out, I saw that a fresh pair of clothes had been prepared for me. A cream t-shirt and a black shorts laying side by side. As I walked downstairs,
