Chapter 5: Payback Time

Damon kept avoiding Katerina until the night came.  He's very annoyed with what the woman did and her reaction earlier because he feels that she is more on the side of that dickheaded Rico.

Since his first day on the island, he could already feel the man's distaste for his presence and continued to insult him for not having his own house and money.  The asshole almost ruined the good boy image he built to make Katerina fall in love with him.

Damon sighed, he can't let that dumbass ruin his plan for Katerina.  He didn't waste months pretending here just for nothing.  He endured the hard life on the island including being a fishman plus his hate for the stingy smell and especially the neighbors around who act close to him. How he wished he could make them vanish with his grenades left in the city.

"Achilles..."

Katerina's soft voice sounds like a melody in his ears. He turned around and saw her currently standing in front of him while playing with her fingers.  The woman's face shows hesitation to approach him.

"Are you still mad?"  She asked but he still didn't speak.

"I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't mean to scold you Achilles. I'm just worried about you and your reputation here as a stranger. I just don't want you to fight with anyone else while you stay here. I don't like violence Achilles, I'm afraid of that, I'm not used to it so I hope you understand my point," she gently explained.

He let out a deep breath.  He planned not to talk to her tonight until the morning to pretend he was still sulking but why couldn't he resist this woman? He wasn't like this to anyone before.

"Hey…" Katerina called him again.

"Come here" He gently patted the space on the chair.

Katerina slowly walked towards his direction and sat on the bamboo chair next to him.

"Are you still mad?"

He shook his head in response.

"Then why don't you want to talk to me?"

"Hmm, because I want to act like I'm sulking so you'll have to coax and entreat me…" He grinned mischievously.

Shit!  He hardly recognizes himself now.  Is this really him who says those cringey stuff and all?  Before, he didn't even need to look cute nor act handsome because women were the ones who spontaneously approached and knelt in front of him, but Katerina was different. It's been two months since he came here to impress her, but she doesn't seem to have any intention of paying attention to his charm.

Was it because he was a man with nothing to offer? But good looks should be enough to catch a woman's attention, right? Almost all of the women on their island are dying to have him. Why didn't Katerina feel the same?

"Oh Achilles, you gotta be kidding me."

"Who knows you might do it right?" He answered with a shrug.

Both of them laughed.  After a while he stared at the woman while the moon was shining brightly upon her.  She was really gorgeous in his eyes.  He has seen many beautiful women in his entire existence but her beauty is above them all and he doesn't know why he thinks it that way.

"So are we already okay now?" Katerina asked him with hopeful twinkling eyes.

He smiled and nodded at the woman"...can I say no to you? I guess I can't when it comes to you, Katerina."  He immediately noticed her face lit up in happiness.

"Of course I know you can't resist me," Katerina replied with a proud smile on her lips.

Katerina bid goodnight because after an hour of talking. He also decided to lay down on the sofa.  He had been sleeping there since he arrived at the woman's house.  He didn't know how he would bear to fit himself when he was used to soft beds and luxurious living. His life and way of living here was very far different from what he had in his real world.

Damon spent some time before he opened his eyes.  It was almost midnight when he looked at the clock.  He decided to take a peek at the woman in her room to check if she's really sleeping.  Quietly, he walked closer to Katerina and caressed her cheek as she slept soundly.  He glanced at her one more time before deciding to leave the house and go somewhere else important.

He walked through the dense jungle of the island where his Jaguar Land Rover was hidden.  Fortunately, it was news all over the island that there were wild animals in the jungle, so no one tried to enter it except him and his men.  He immediately started the engine of his car and made his way to the abandoned warehouse near the town.

Damon parked his car outside the building where his men were with his captive—the pirates who had caused trouble this morning.  When he entered, he saw Rain standing in the middle while playing with the iron that he was dipping into the fire.  Maybe his crazy friend is bored, that's why he's here today.

He has not yet forgotten that he asked this guy to gently hit him on the head with a gun to make him pass out and make his acting realistic when Katerina saw him on the shore but his crazy friend took the opportunity and beat him very hard that resulted him to sleep all throughout the day after Katerina found him.

 "Am I late?"

Rain grinned devilishly. "Nahhh, you're just in time," he replied.

He kicked the five men who were tied and they fell to the floor.  He bent down so that his face would level with the one in front of him.  It's payback time.  Messing with Damon Achilles Castellanos means death.

"Hi," he greeted and grinned at the group leader named Edgar.

His eyes widened in shock upon realizing who he was.  "Y—you?" Edgar asked in surprise.

"Yes, it's pretty good that you still remember me dickhead!" He grinned and cocked his gun then shot a bullet in Edgar's shoulder.  Fresh blood flowed from his wound that made his adrenaline rush in excitement. He pressed his finger onto Edgar's wound to make him feel more pain.

"AHHH!"

The man's scream echoed throughout the whole building. Sounds like music to his ears.

"How dare you to want what belongs to me, huh? You have no right to touch that woman because she's mine! Mine! Do you understand?"  He snarled.  The person in front of him grunted in pain as he pressed the wound on his shoulder even more.

He laughed like a mad man as he saw Edgar's suffering.  "And you really plan to teach me a lesson?! Me, who was worshiped and looked up to by everyone? Even the demons here on earth bow down on my feet dumbass! And guess what? I will be the one to teach the lesson you are talking about!"

"B—boss, please forgive me." Edgar begged, but he felt no pity for him.  "I—I'll be nice, I'll work with you Boss," the man pleaded. "Just don't kill me…"

Damon laughed again as if he Edgar Said something very funny. "I don't need trash to work for me." He then turned to Artemio, his henchman. "You know what to do with them, Artemio," he said coldly then turned to the five men again.

"Yes My Lord." Artemio replied and took the iron from Rain  that he had purposely heated in the fire.

Rain accompanied him out of the place.  He could still hear the men's screams when they got out of the abandoned building.  The corner of his lips twitched.

'Five down, one left,' he said in his mind.  It won't take long for Rico to follow those men here. He'll really make sure that boastful asshole won't come back to life ever again.

He lit a cigarette first and then sat on the hood of his car.  The men inside were still shouting non-stop but he was only getting more and more happy with what he heard.

"Aren't you going back to the city Damon?"  Rain asked.

He looked into the void, even though his brain didn't want to admit it, he seemed to like staying on the island with Katerina.

"It's not yet time bud," he answered.

Rain chuckled. Like him, he is also a mafia boss, the future leader of BlackStone Sigma Organization—one of their best allies in Spain.

"I bet Valentino is raging mad these days, you're taking too long. Maybe your charisma got rusty that until now, nothing in your plan of wooing her has ever succeeded."

He gave his friend a death glare before cursing him.  "Fuck you Rain!"
