Chapter 47: Decisions

On the day of my mom’s funeral, I stare out at the rain while the water slides down the windowpane constantly like a river that is never ending. Standing behind me, Brandon has his fingers laced with mine as his arms hug me tightly and he lays butterfly kisses down the back of my neck softly. I close my eyes for a split second to try and stop the tears from flowing because I know damn well that if I don’t, my mascara will run.

It is bad enough that it is time, but when I found out two days ago that I am completely barren, my whole world was turned upside down. Apparently, as the good doctor said it, “Your female productive organs are almost nonexistent.” is the nice way of putting that I am so messed up inside a baby could never be conceived.
