Humans can plan, but God decides. The words floated through Olivia's mind as she and her mother came out of the morgue, her mother devastated by Evie's death. She had to support her mother's body when leaving the morgue, and sat her in a long wooden chair in front of the morgue.

Lucas offered her mother a glass of water. Her mother's gaze was now completely blank, her face almost expressionless. Only her tears continued to flow down between her cheeks, making her eyelids sparkle as the sunlight hit her.
