Chapter 1

‘Cedric has had too much alcohol and is currently resting at my place. I’m in Room 1508, Les Rideaux Hotel. I’ll wait for you to come and pick him up.’

Sophie Luxford stood in front of Room 1508, clutching her cell phone and apathetically staring at the text message she had received an hour earlier.

Her hair was nicely done, and she hadn’t had time to change out of her business attire. Her thin brows added to her appearance of a powerful, independent career woman.

She had instructed someone to contact a large number of media outlets with the sole purpose of catching the adulterous couple in the act, and they were all standing behind her.

“Mrs. Carlson, why are you still hesitating? Why aren’t you going in?” Someone in the crowd could not wait any longer. They were determined to photograph the adulterous couple in action, and they did not want such a major event to pass them by!

After taking a deep breath, Sophie finally made up her mind and said, “Please do one thing for me.”

Everyone was perplexed. “What is it?”

“Help me to kick the door open.”

After exchanging glances, everyone expressed their willingness to help.

Bang! The door to the luxury suite could not withstand such brutal force. The lock broke and the door was forcefully opened.

“Who is it?!” A woman’s graceful figure emerged as she pulled the shower curtain open.

“Ahh!” Valerie Bryn’s face went pale as she cried out in astonishment. She was not prepared for the unexpected influx of people into her room or the blinding flashes from the cameras that were currently recording this scene.

She closed the shower curtain, but only partially, and yelled, “Cedric! Cedric, wake up!”

“Huh, what’s going on?” the man replied in a rather charming and pleasant voice. He was not sober, and he felt as if he was floating on clouds. He used the bathtub as support and stood up staggeringly with Valerie’s assistance.

He was just like God’s masterpiece, with incredibly attractive facial features, a sharp nose, and sensual lips. His voice was seductive and attractive as well.

Sophie was at her breaking point. She drew the shower curtain open with a swish. The man’s slender chest was fully exposed to the spotlight, and Valerie, who was standing next to him, covered herself up frantically.

“That’s her! The famous actress, Valerie Brynd! She’s purposefully breaking up my family by having an affair with my husband, Cedric Carlson. I ask that she be banned from all the major studios in the entertainment industry!”

Sophie meant every word she said. The media started taking photos of the luxurious suite from every angle, leaving no details uncaptured.

This was an exceptionally thrilling scene, and would undoubtedly become the talk of the town.

“Sophie Luxford, what rights do you have to do this?!” Valerie's pallid face betrayed her fear. She had sent Sophie that text message on purpose, figuring that Sophie would give up after realizing that her marriage was falling apart. However, she did not anticipate that Sophie would contact so many media outlets to publicize this matter instead. Sophie even asked for her to be banned from the industry!

Valerie was terrified now more than anything.

Sophie stepped forward and answered, “What rights do I have? Simply because I’m a Luxford, and the Luxfords own half of the entertainment industry!”

“C-Cedric…” Valerie felt awful. She clutched Cedric’s hand tightly, but Cedric slowly pried her fingers away.

If he had been drunk earlier, he would be completely sober right now.

Cedric walked up to Sophie with a bath towel wrapped around him while saying with a faint smile, “I was wondering who it was. It turned out to be you…”
