Tete-a-tete

Aubrey's POV

His eyes flickered with some deep emotion that I couldn't place my finger on. I was consumed with the need to comfort him. Funnily enough, I didn't know how.

" I guess it's in the open now." He said and I stared at him, he didn't seem ashamed one bit, and I found it admirable.

He heaved a deep sigh which spoke volumes, and rubbed his face to get rid of the tiredness that sat in his eyes.

I couldn't imagine how he was feeling, bottling all of that up for so long.

My feet trudged toward him, he opened his arms widely and I walked into him, his large arms enclosing me in his warmth. I rested slowly on his chest and shook my head. How was it possible that he was hurting deeply and still wanted to protect me?

These were the little things that comforted me and made me know that he loved me very much, "I hope you're doing fine? It'll soon be over." He said.

I shook my head, " Sometimes, I wonder if I am not making a big mistake." I began, I was a firm believer of speaking the
