Chapter 78

Sophia's POV.

A crowd gathered by the river and I was seated on a stone by its bank. I watched as they dragged a lifeless body to the shore and tried to identify him.

Brandon sighed many times when he figured out the man belonged to his pack.

His face had been disfigured and most parts of his body dismembered so seeing this must have broken him.

I held my baby, feeding him while he relaxed in my arms.

"He could be anyone and they just threw on this seal to distract us". One of the pack members who had volunteered to come said.

That might have been a possibility but it was less likely.

The extent they went just to spite Brandon was at an extreme and I was not sure anyone would do it. Besides, he said he had no enemies.

We were deep in thought, trying to wrap our heads around what had happened and how to move forward when I noticed Brandon pull his cell phone from his pocket and dial a number.

He excused himself and went into the bushes to take his call.
