Chapter 4: Kidnapped

The remembrance of Cedric brought a trace of anger down Braelyn's spine.

That bastard not only took advantage of her when she tried to help him, he shamed her and kicked her out, which resulted in her leaving White Flake Pack.

The least she could do to get revenge was to mess up his expensive car.

Had it been she knew, she would have kicked that monstrous thing of his to the curb, but it was too late to cry over spilled milk. Besides, she cherished her life so much, okay?

That damn Cedric was a very ruthless person. She knew he would literally ask his guard to drain her into a pool of water if she dared to kick that thing of his.

One day, Braelyn had nearly fallen into Cedric's hands some years ago. She went out to buy some things for the kids only to see his handsome fgure approaching his car. Braelyn could only hide because she was afraid that that person would strangle her because of his car.

Braelyn sighed in relief when she arrived at the house. She was about to unlock the door when she felt that something was amiss. The smile on her face was soon replaced with a frown.

"How come the door lock is broken? It's fne when I leave." Braelyn muttered to herself, but she soon brushed it off and entered the apartment.

"Babies, mommy is back!" She yelled.

Braelyn dropped all that she brought at the table with a hum when she was rewarded with silence.

Thinking that the triplet had begun their hide and seek, Braelyn yelled loudly. "Sage, Henry Liam, come down momma's back!" Braelyn yelled loudly once more while she began to check the house, chuckling to herself as she opened the kid's room door, the store, and the kitchen.

The triplets were getting better in hide and seek…' Braelyn thought as she opened the door to her room, but she suddenly paled before she could complete her words.

"TRIPLET!"

Braelyn yelled as she opened her closet, bathroom, etc. but the triplet wasn't there.

She ran back to the sitting room with a pounding heart and yelled again. "Triplet." But only her voice echoed in the apartment. Her eyes widened, the kids had disappeared!

Soon Braelyn saw a fnger mark on the sofa.

A sign that the kids were struggling earlier, there was even a faint blood print on the foor.

Remembering the broken lock and piercing everything together, Braelyn could only have one thought:

the triplet has been kidnapped!

Before Braelyn could descend into her thoughts, a loud ringing of her phone brought her to life.

Braelyn with trembling hands picked up the call from the manager, "Manager Leo?" Braelyn called with a trembling voice

"Braelyn?" Manager Leo called anxiously after hearing the trembling in her voice.

A few minutes later, the police arrived at Braelyn's apartment.

"So you said what?" The policeman asked her languidly

"My children were kidnapped in my absence…" Braelyn said and gave them all the details of how it happened with tears in her eyes

Manager Leo was also present, he was the one who brought the police after Braelyn explained all that happened to the triplet in her absence.

"Can we see the triplet pictures?" One of the policemen demanded.

Braelyn was trembling as she brought the triplet's picture to the police.

"So can you tell us the details of your morning, please?" One of the policemen questioned while others checked the apartment to see if they can fnd any clues

After a few minutes, a policeman approached her with a gentle smile. "Miss, we couldn't fnd any clues that something like this happened, if not for a broken lock but we would do our capable best to fnd the triplets." The policemen informed her which made tears slipped from her eyes.

After collecting all the details they would, the policemen took their leave.

Braelyn immediately bent down and wrapped her arms around herself tightly, her eyes were clouded with tears but Manager Leo bent down to hug her. "Don't cry, the kids would be found." He tried to comfort her.

But it only ended up making her cry more as she remembered all that happened, "The triplet wanted to follow me to the supermarket this morning but I asked them to stay. If I let them follow me, none of this would have happened. It's all my fault. It's all my fault." Braelyn cried out.

Her heart was flled with pain. The children haven't eaten this morning, they'd surely be hungry, as they are just fve years old. There was blood stains on the foor, which of the triplet had the blood?

Sage was always afraid of seeing blood, would she faint in fright? The more Braelyn thought about this, the more her tears fall from her cheeks.

She hugged Manager Leo tearfully, her body was trembling in fright. "What do I do Manager Leo? What do I do without the kids?" Braelyn cried out tearfully. The sadness ate her deeply.

"How do I live without them?" The triplet was the reason Braelyn pushed herself this far.

"Everything was hard but whenever I thought about them, I tried to push on. Who kidnapped the triplets? Why? I'm always carefree, I offended no one." Braelyn cried out, her tears wetting Manager Leo's shirt.

Manager Leo, the forty years old man sighed, he was also overwhelmed with sadness. After all, the triplets were his godchildren.

"Don't worry too much! The policemen will fnd the triplets" Manager Leo tried to comfort her but Braelyn pulled away from him aggressively.

"Do you hear what the policeman said?" Braelyn asked with quivering lips. Her tears were streaming down her cheeks but she made no aim to wipe them away. "Even the police couldn't fnd any clues."

"Don't. Don't lose hope. The policemen haven't checked the CCTV yet. Perhaps, there will be good news when they do. Don't cry or else the triplet will be unhappy if they see you like this."

Manager Leo comforted and once he saw that she was calm compared to before, he decided to leave in hopes to check on Braelyn later
