Elkie scoffed and sat up. "If you were good parents, would you watch your children's lives be planned by someone else? I was just engaged to Cedric all of a sudden because of you guys" she yelled loudly like a mad woman.

Wyatt's father couldn't help but stare at Elkie as if she was a mad woman. "Weren't you the one who agreed to the engagement?" He asked. If Elkie had told Cédric's parents that she wasn't interested in the marriage then they'd have never gotten her engaged so what was Elkie saying now?
