Chapter Nineteen

Nina

"You made quite a mess back there," Nina pointed out as Gabriel opened the passenger car door for her.

"I did what I had to do," Gabriel grumbled at his mother, slamming the door before getting in. "Where do we go from here?"

"Take me to the forest behind your home, Gabriel, there I have the necessities to conjure up a spell to take us to Paris quicker than human transportation ever could," Nina replied as Gabriel ordered the now terrified and shaky driver to take them home.

Just like the ride to the Refuge, the drive was long and quiet, no words shared between mother and son as they drove home. Nina closed her eyes, feeling herself slowly slipping into peaceful darkness.
