Chapter 2

Joshua's pov:

I got up from the bench and about to walk then--

"Don't!" came the voice from behind me.

I turned around to face her. "What?" I say more like a question.

"Don't go, you can sit here" she said in a monotone voice.

Is she bipolar? I thought.

"Why are you bipolar? First you said go away and now you are saying don't go." I voiced my thoughts, getting annoyed.

She stare at me for few seconds and look away without saying anything.

Is she always rude with everyone or it's me only?

I shrugged it off and sat down on the bench again, facing the front of the classroom, on board to see what the teacher is explaining. From the corner of my eyes I saw she again put her head on table between her arms and went to sleep again. Lazy.

After half and hour the bell rang and the teacher gave us homework and dismissed us. The next subject teacher came and he started teaching after the bell rang he gave us some homework and went out of the class room and like that few periods also passed away and she is still sleeping. Again the bell rang and finally the interval came.

I started picking up my books and stationary and put them in my bag meanwhile all the students were rushing out of the classroom like if they get late they will not get food. Whatever. I saw she is still sleeping unfazed by anything. I again stare at her soft features, few strands of her hair falling on her cheek my hands itched to put them behind her ear.

'How romantic? Shut up Joshua.' I scolded myself for thinking about someone 'like that' and came out of my thoughts.

Isn't she hungry? I decided to wake her up. I lean towards her and started shaking her. "Hey wake up." She didn't even move a bit. So I again shake her shoulders. "Hey listen you girl wake up." She started moving a little. "What do you want?" She asked coldly while rubbing her eyes.

"It's interval don't you want to eat anything?" I asked out of concern.

"It's none of your business" she again spat rudely.

Okay no need to be rude she can simply deny if she is not hungry.

"Are you sure? You must be tired of sleeping" I sarcastically asked.

"Did I stutter? and don't be sarcastic with me." she said and stood up from the bench and walked away.

'I stay here instead of going outside to ask her if she want to eat anything and she didn't even wait for me?'

Rude! Rude! Rude!

I stomped my foot on the floor and started heading out of the classroom.

I started walking towards the canteen

and many students were rushing in the corridor like they were eager to reach somewhere. I get inside the canteen and saw a big hall room with many round tables and chairs around them.

'But why it's so empty? Only few students were there. Am I late to reach here and all the students already had their lunch?' I shrugged off and walked to the food counter.

'What's on the menu?' I saw the food counters were full with 'mac and cheese' my favorite. I took a plate full of mac and cheese and took a cup full of coke. Yum!

I started walking towards the table but confused where to sit. The few students sitting there already had their groups and I don't know anyone here. So I decided to sit alone.

"Hey!" Someone shouted and I turned towards the voice and saw the same girl from the classroom 'who asked if I'm single or not' I think I should ask her name instead of calling her that.

She waved at me and made a sign to come. I walked to her table which had few friends of her 'two boys and two girls.' "Yes how may I help you?" I asked like a gentleman I am. "Oh stop your formalities and come here." She said and pulled me to sit beside her.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Easy girl.

I sat there awkwardly and all her friends staring at me. "Hi Joshua I'm Stacey." She said gaining my attention. "U-uh hello" I said still not being comfortable. Stop getting nervous Joshua they just want to be friendly. She smiled at me sweetly. Way to sweetly than needed.

"So Joshua meet my friends this is Jordan" she said motioning to the boy sat beside her. "This is Mia, Jane and Kevin" she introduced more of her friends presented on the table. "Hi nice to meet you." I greeted not knowing what to say. "Why are you so nervous?" Mia asked after noticing my uncomfort. "It's just I'm not good in interactions with new people" I told her half truth half lie.

The whole truth is I'm not even interested in knowing them.

"So why here are only few students where are the others?" I asked changing the topic. "Nothing much someone has a bad luck today" Stacey replied. I got confused. "Who and how?" I again asked getting curious.

"A newbie crashed into Grace Anderson when she was taking her food to her table and ruined her uniform." Who is Grace?

"Who is grace?" I asked gaining her attention. "The girl with whom you sat since the morning" she said while rolling her eyes. "So what? It was just a mistake." I told her. "No that's a mistake for you not for Grace it's a sin for her to get in her way or to mess with her and there are consequences for that." she said nonchalantly. "What she usually do as consequences?" I asked hoping for a positive answer. "She torture the victims and bully them so next time they think twice to cross her way." she said crushing down my hopes.

Is she that bad?

"So where is she now?" I asked curiously. "Where would she be? Obviously giving a good lesson to that newbie" she said taking a bite of her sandwich.

Isn't she concerned about that new student?

"Where is she now?" I asked getting impatient. "I don't know she dragged that boy to the exit door of the canteen." she said after taking a glance at me. "But why are you questioning about her that much." she asked getting suspicious. "I'm just concerned about that new student." I said and ran towards the exit door.
