Chapter 4

Joshua's pov:

I started walking at the way to my home. It took me 20 minutes to reach home. As I entered I remember to apologize to my mum so I started searching for her.

"Mom!" I shouted from the living room while putting my bag on the couch.

"Yes I'm here." She replied back from the kitchen. I started walking towards the kitchen. As I entered the kitchen the sweet aroma of lasagna hit my nose. I sat on the kitchen counter and open the lid of the bowl. I started sniffing like a dog.

"Wow you are cooking my favourite dish." I said feeling suddenly happy.

"Yes I cooked it specially for my sweet little boy." she smiled at me.

"Mom I'm not little anymore, how many times I've to tell you." I said while taking a spoon to taste the tasty dish. Lasagna.

"You will always be my little baby." She said and slapped my hands away from the bowl.

"Oww! Geez woman." I stated shocked.

"Wash your hands first and second don't talk to me in that tone boy." she said while fake glaring at me. We both burst out laughing. I started washing my hands in the kitchen sink.

"I'm sorry for my today's morning rude behaviour." I apologized.

"It's OK. Btw how was your first day at school?" she asked from behind me. I turned towards her and saw her whole focus was on me.

"It was fine." I said shrugging nonchalantly.

"Just fine? Nothing interesting happened?Didn't you made any friends?" she asked amusingly.

"It was my first day mom nothing more." I said the obvious.

"Ahhh I see." she said.

"But today I met with a hilarious girl." I told her about that girl. Grace.

"And how that hilarious girl made your day special?" she asked mischievously.

"Don't even start on that. She herself is a whole package of problems." I stated.

"Why? What did she do?" she asked curiously.

"She didn't do anything to me. But according to the whole class she is a lady don of our school." I told her annoyingly remembering the whole day's incidents.

"So what get you so annoyed with her?" she asked chuckling.

"She gave me unnecessary attitude the whole day like I've snatched her property." I spat.

My mom burst out laughing. Wiping her fake tears she said "Don't go so hard on each other." After that she left the kitchen.

Like I've provoked that demon without horns.

Grace the little demon.

I internally laughed on my own thoughts. I took the plate and after serving myself sat on the kitchen stool. Taking the first bite of my favourite dish I feel like heaven.

"mhmm." I moaned at the taste of it.

"Mom it's so good, thank you." I shouted from the kitchen.

No matter if she heard or not.

Time skip:

It's evening now and I think I should do my homework for tomorrow.

Why do we have to do homeworks?

Why don't teachers get homeworks?

Why do I always overthink? Shouldn't I do my homework now? Whom I'm questioning?

Myself. Silly!

I took out my books and notebooks from my bag and sat on my study table. Gazing out the window of my room. Streets are quite busy in the evening. Children comes out of their houses to play and rush on the roads. And here I'm sitting alone in my room doing my homework. Why I don't have any friends to hangout?

I got no friends!

Yeah right. In previous school I got so much bully so I never even wanted to talk to someone in my class. I was scared of them. Why I was not strong to protect myself from them? I just get comfortable with only few peoples whom I trust. Is that wrong? Is it important to socialize with people even of you don't like to? So you will never get alone and bully?

I stopped the train of my thoughts and started doing my homework it tooka glance at the clock. It took me 3 hours to complete it and now it's 8 in the night. Phew! I stretched my arms and legs and put my stuff in the bag. And my stomach growled.

I'm hungry!

I opened my room door and after stepping out closed it behind me. I descended down the stairs and straightly went towards the kitchen. I was about to enter the kitchen but the front door opened and my dad entered in. He saw me and smiled.

"Oh Joshua how was your first day at school?" he asked approaching me.

"It was fine dad." I said and started walking into the kitchen with him.

"So what's in the dinner today?" he asked wiggling his eyebrows at me.

"I still don't know let's find out together." I said and fist bump him.

"What's in the dinner mom?" I asked my mum as we entered into the kitchen.

"Okay? So both the hungry babies came?" she said smiling.

"I'm not a baby anymore mom!" I again remind her.

"You are still my baby." she said her favourite line.

"But I'm not a baby honey." my dad also said being offended.

"Says who, get annoyed at little things when he is hungry." she smirked.

"Okay I lost." my dad surrendered.

"But I will still fight for my rights." I said like a soldier and salute my mom.

"And you will always loose against me." she said and they both started laughing.

They are the best parents in this whole world.

I love them so much.

Like they are out of the world.

I hope everyone get these kind of parents.

"Okay now stop laughing you both I'm hungry." I said being annoyed.

"Okay now sit and have your dinner. I have made cheese rolls and bacon." she said.

My dad went to wash his hands in the kitchen sink and soon joined us. We chit chat about our whole day and enjoy our dinner laughing and bickering. After it I went to my room for sleep.

I hope my rest of the school days goes well without any drama.
