Chapter Eleven

Isla’s POV

As our son left us alone to prepare for his next mission, I turned to my mate, my Alpha. “Are we doing the right thing here?” I questioned him with a hint of uncertainty in my tone. Aaron frowned and grabbed my hand, gently pulling me to his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my forehead.

“My Luna, of course, we are doing the right thing. Luke can handle this, and besides, neither of us wants to have Carrie out of our sights, do we?” He said quietly. He was right, of course. We had always been on edge with what we could and could not allow our daughter to do and go. It was a cruel world that we had both learned the hard way.

Since Carrie had shown those healing abilities, I became even more concerned for her safety. Surely, she could understand that we loved her with all our hearts and only wanted what was best for her. She needed our protection, being at risk of harm from anyone deemed an enemy.

“So, what will we do?” I turned to face my mate
