Chapter Six

Luke’s POV

I fought my way through the crowd of bodies, my heart pounding with each step as I searched for her - our mother, Luna Isla.

And then I saw her. Slumped on the ground, her human form naked and vulnerable, her silver hair matted with blood, and her face bruised and bloodied. The sight sent a shock of horror and fear through me, and I dropped to my knees beside her, my hands shaking as I reached out to touch her cold, still form.

"Mother!" I gasped, my voice hoarse with emotion as I gathered her into my arms. "Carrie, help me!"

But Carrie was frozen in shock, her eyes wide with disbelief and panic as she looked down at our mother's limp form. I could see the tears welling up in her eyes, the fear and helplessness written all over her face.

"Carrie, snap out of it!" I shouted, my voice urgent as I tried to shake her out of her stupor. "We need to get her help. Go, find a warrior, and tell them to fetch Myra, the pack healer. Hurry!"
