Chapter 4- Investigate

Felicity immediately came back to the room where the party was being held. When she opened the door, she saw three drunk men sleeping on the couch. Luckily, they were all knocked out from the party. She doesn’t want to get involved with any other men right now, as she already had a hard time. She looked around and saw her bag in the corner and picked it up.

When Felicity left the room, she met Andrew in the hallway. “Hi,” Andrew greeted. She answered with a smile.

“It’s been a long time.” He added.

“Yeah,” Felicity nodded.

“Are you going home? I’ll give you a ride.” He offered.

“Thanks, but I’m okay. I can take a cab.” She was about to walk through him when Andrew held her arms.

“Can we talk?” he asked. Felicity was hesitant at first, but she agreed. They went to the park nearby the hotel. “How are you?” Andrew asked. He looked at her worriedly.

“Still the same. Still working at your dad's and raising my son alone. But we're better now. I can handle things now. Thanks to your family.”  She smiled, reassuring him that everything was fine.

“I thought you stopped doing this?” Andrew was referring to her job as an entertainer.

Felicity chuckled. “I need this to survive. Besides, I have nowhere else to go. You know what happened to me and my parents, and they will surely block my name at any company that I will try to apply to. And I also need to earn to bring back my tailoring shop open again. I still want to be a designer, you know. This is just temporary,” she explained.

“I can help-” Felicity stopped him from talking.

“No. It's fine. I don’t want to be a burden to you. And you’re getting married. I don’t want to be the reason for your fight with Jen. She’s good for you.” She smiled again. “Anyway, I have to go. My son is waiting for me. Thanks for the tip.” She raised the envelope containing the money that Andrew’s secretary gave to her. “Congrats to you and Jen. I am happy for both of you.” Felicity turned around to walk away, leaving Andrew at the park. But before she finally left, Andrew told her to come to their wedding and that he will send an invitation for the wedding. She just nodded before entering the cab that was parked at the side of the street, waiting for her.

At Li Empire (Jeremy’s Company)

Jeremy was in the conference room, having a meeting with the managers at different departments, reporting their monthly reports. But his mind was occupied with Felicity. It had been a week since he saw her, and he couldn’t help but think of her and their conversations before. After the long hour of meeting. He asked his assistant to call his private investigator.

“Get the information of this name.” Jeremy handed a piece of paper with the name ‘Happy’ to his investigator. “He works at one of the clubs owned by Mr. Tan. Give me the details as soon as possible. Where she lives and such.” He ordered.

“Copy, sir. Consider it done.” The investigator replied.

He went off to work early and decided to go to the club where Felicity was working. All he could know was her name, Happy. The name that Felicity uses at work. He doesn’t know her real name.

When he entered the club, he sat at the corner, far from the stage where the performers dance, and nearby the entrance. He doesn’t want to be seen by Felicity. Much more, he just came to see what she was doing at her work.

The program started, and he heard the men from the front cheering for the dancers. He ordered a beer and observed the surroundings. When the emcee informed the presence of the main dancer, his eyes darted to the lady at the center of the stage, wearing a mask with her hair tied up in a pony. Wearing her black leather top bra and a black leather thong, with black fishnet stockings. Her milky skin glows as the light centers on her. Who will not be turned on? Who would have thought that the woman dancing at the front in front of the luscious eyes of the men had a child already?

Jeremy frowned when he saw a drunk man trying to go up on the stage, waving his money in the air, walking close to Happy. Happy started to feel uncomfortable when the old man started touching her. Jeremy clenched and drank his beer straight before he stood up and decided to appear at the front, which made Felicity startled. “Mister?” She stopped dancing and looked at the guy, who turned up out of nowhere. ‘What is he doing here?’ she wondered.

“Hey, what are you doing here?” The old man asked him.

“Getting you off the stage.” He held the old guy by his wrist and tried to drag him off of the stage. But the old guy resisted.

“Who are you? I’m paying this woman to be with me tonight. If you don’t mind, go and get some other girls. Mind your own business, asshole.” Jeremy clicked his tongue.

Unannounced, he suddenly punched the guy right through his face, which made the guy fall to the ground. Everyone gasped at the commotion on the stage. The bouncers came to stop the fuss. And Jeremy removed his coat to cover Felicity’s body. He grabbed her by the wrist and dragged her out of the club.

“Hey! Stop right there! Stop them!” The manager called some more bouncers to stop them from running away.

“Where are we going?” She asked, but Jeremy did not say anything.

They stopped at the park where his car was being parked. Jeremy finally released her hand when they reached his car. “What’s wrong with you? Why did you drag me away when I am still working?” she asked.

“Aren’t you ashamed of your son?”

“What?” Felicity asked in confusion.

“Doing this kind of job? Dancing, almost naked in front of other men? Can’t you find any other decent job?” Felicity felt insulted as she scoffed.

“You don’t know me. So stop meddling with my own business.” She rolled her eyes before she walked out and went back to the club.
