Pureza Na Luz

"Is she the one you're going to kill next?"

The sentence blows quickly to hit Nala with shock. Clearly that this guy had a conversation full of, Nala believed Raymond that he wouldn't be able to do it, right? She hardly sounds sure. But who's that guy that makes Nala doubt Raymond?

"Who is he?" Nala interrupts when Raymond is in her open room, he sits on a small red sofa in the corner of the room. Raymond appears to be jolted from his daydream when Nala asks him that.

He glanced at Nala to stare intently at her. There's an expression that arises there that Nala can't afford to read. fear? worried? Or what? Nala doesn't know.

Raymond just shuts his mouth shut, is this also part of his promise not to tell Nala?

"All right, that's your right not to speak." In the end, Nala says that even though her heart says otherwise, she wants to force Raymond to say all the things Nala doesn't know. But what if the man is right?

Nala massages the base of her nose when she thinks too much and her throbbing head hurts. She doesn't know if her curiosity can make Nala after this.

"Nala?"

"Hm?" murmured Nala opening a little of her eyes that had just closed. Nala instead found Raymond standing on both knees in front of himself sitting in a chair, Raymond's different eyes sparkling in color not to escape the sight of Nala who also looked at him. "What's wrong?"

"Can Ray touch Nala?"

Nala's forehead wrinkled to hear that. "For what?"

Raymond's look of ducking leaves Raymond's long eyelashes shaded between his nose. "Ray only wanted to hold Nala's hand once."

There is silence that accompanies them with Nala's inability to digest what Raymond is. But in the end, Nala nodded and found that Raymond couldn't see her, she immediately said, "Go ahead."

Seconds after Nala said one word, Raymond's eyes crawled up until he caught Nala's gaze, his smile instantly blooming creating a reddish hue on Nala's cheek as Raymond slowly touched the tip of his finger on the back surface of Nala's hand lying on her lap.

Nala unknowingly breathes deeply as Raymond's scent gets thicker around her until Nala has to keep her body upright resting on the backrest of the chair preventing her from leaning more towards Raymond. She noticed how Raymond's fingers touched her hands very slowly as it was a fragile glass that could break at any time. Raymond then gently flips Nala's hand, tracing the lines in the palm of her hand until Raymond eventually grasps Nala's hand gently.

Nala feels her cheeks getting warmer as Raymond's cold big hands wrap her hands tightly. It's no ordinary grip, more like Raymond channeling his emotions on Nala. Nala's tears seemed to spill right away. Moreover, Raymond eventually looked up at her, sharing an expression that made Nala feel her heart as if squeezed with invisible hands.

As the grip tightens, Nala gasps as the faded white light appear like tendrils protruding from Raymond's right wrist and bloom to form a beautiful glowing inscription on his tanned skin. Nala's eyes glanced at Raymond who seemed surprised by himself, apparently he also only found out. Through the dim light, Nala read his writing, 'Pureza Na Luz'. "What is this?"

Raymond seemed tense in her grasp and as if conscious of his daydreams, he quickly pulled his hand away from Nala until instantly the writing on Raymond's skin disappeared like it was blown away. Raymond's gaze rises to Nala with his confusion and disbelief. Nala is a little disappointed when the writing quickly disappears with Raymond's hand away from Nala's grasp, even before Nala has time to admire it for much longer.

"What happened just now?" asked Nala once more.

Raymond's hair swayed with his head shaking. "That is the name of the kingdom where Ray lived, but Nala, the shining sign was a sign of the royals of Pureza Na Luz."

Nala listens carefully to Raymond, his head has concluded. "Then?"

Raymond seemed hesitant, his mouth open for him to close again. He rises restlessly and passes his eyes in all directions and returns to look at Nala with his eyebrows down. "Ray's nobody, Nala. Nature must have made a mistake."

Nala gets up and her hands float up to Raymond's wrist, jerking to feel her touch. Nala grasps gently and repeats to admire how the light re-rises forming beautiful writing on Raymond's skin. Nala then said almost half-whispered. "This beautiful thing, how can it be a mistake?"

Nala's left hand climbed through the cursive writing with her long fingers. Her other hand felt the warmth begin to spread slowly to Nala's skin that was channeled from Raymond. "If you mean you're not a part of it, let this happen. That means you're special Raymond, having this or without this."

Nala still admires the dim light that shines before her. Suddenly Nala's hand felt the water dripping there. Nala's eyes go up to find Raymond crying without sound with a vibrating body. Did Nala miss her speech to Raymond?

"I'm sorry Raymond, maybe my words are too harsh for you," she says sounding agitated in her standing place, she moves forward putting one of her hands on Raymond's shoulder.

"Nala never made a mistake on Ray. It's just that no one ever said that to Ray," he said weakly.

Nala's curved mouth forms a genuine smile. She raised her hand off Raymond's shoulder and slowly removed her other hand. She was a little disappointed when the writing disappeared with an imaginary hissing voice on her head.

Nala is amazed how many things relate to Raymond all like beautiful magic that never makes Nala bored to see more and how the glowing writing on Raymond's tanned skin arises because the reaction of direct contact with Nala is enough to make Nala's cheeks warm.

Nala's small cough attracts Raymond's attention. "What does that writing mean?"

"Pureza Na Luz means purity in light. It is the name of a kingdom where the elves of pure light without crosses between humans gather to form an empire. Every descendant of the king as well as members of the kingdom who are elves of pure light must have this mark that will be visible if they make contact with the bond of his partner. But Nala, Ray isn't both. Ray is not a descendant of the king, Ray is a half-human elf and the relationship between Ray and Nala is more like between a slave and his master."

Nala listens carefully to every word that comes out of Raymond's mouth until she has to shake when Nala hears Raymond's last sentence.

"What nonsense are you saying?"

Nala was about to open her voice when the speech was cut even before Nala spoke. She immediately tenses with her head jerking towards the doorway. Her mouth was snouted with scan eyes and Nala opened her mouth with a sense of shock and relief flooding every nerve. "Daniel?"
