Helen's POV

The moment I saw Fernando, my eyes widened theatrically into the size of saucers.

I opened my mouth to utter a word but nothing but air came out.

"Helen?" He uttered, shock tinging his voice.

Fuck. I thought, as I fiddled with my fingers.

Why the hell was the deity never on my side?

Why did I have to encounter Fernando at the damn club?

Now, he was definitely not going to back down until he found out what I truly needed money for.

Earlier that day when I had gotten an email stating that I had gotten the female bartender job, I had been so elated and relieved that I wouldn't have to bump into Fernando and be asked baseless questions.

I guess I had forgotten that nothing in my life never went the way I wanted it to.

And based on the way he had spoken earlier that day, it seemed like he was beginning to have some suspicions about Ethan's paternity.

Calmly, I wiped my hand on my apron and spread my lips in a smile.

She literally does need a slap across her face for a solid wake-up call. Her child is in severe health and the father is a 90% likely chance, has the funds, but her anger and pride she is putting herself first instead of her kid.
