I ran the water in my bathroom, hoping to take a quick shower before going to work. The coffee had helped in waking my sleepy bones but I still felt weak.

If only I could spend the day indoors and not go to work, I thought. But that would never happen. Leslie would see it as an opportunity to chastise me and give me a query. That was something I wasn't interested in.

The water heated up and I quickly jumped into the shower. I squeezed a reasonable amount of my shower gel into my hands and applied it to my body. I didn't bother with washing my hair because that would take more of my time which was the opposite of what I wanted to achieve.
