Imagine waiting all your life for someone, that special person who would complete you and make you whole, someone you could lean on and cherish for the rest of your life. But then, when that special someone finally appears, they are far from what you were expecting. 

I had met my mate at my sister Rosaria’s wedding. Walking down the aisle as the best man, I felt my wolf stir within me and then the scent of sandalwood and lavender hit me hard. ‘Mate!’ My wolf growled in my head and I tried to find the she-wolf behind the scent but I couldn’t because a lot of people were looking at me and I couldn’t identify the owner of the scent just by looking around.

Fast forward, the wedding had ended and I was with my family in the garden taking pictures when the same intoxicating scent hit me harder. Turning around, I stood frozen in shock when I saw the person who the scent belonged to. ‘Mate!’ My wolf growled but I swallowed painfully. Was this a joke the moo
